Juanita Ann (Kutcher) Schulte

Juanita Ann (Kutcher) Schulte, age 82 of Norway, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022, surrounded family. She was born on the farm, east of Oxford, on March 4, 1940 to her parents, Roy J Kutcher and MaryAnne (Bowman) Kutcher. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1958 and studied nursing at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, Iowa City, from 1958-1961.

Jodie Ellen Bevans, 58, of Palo, died Friday, July 15, 2022. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.Jodie was born June 8, 1964, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Hugh and Rita (O’Rourke) McKenna.

Marci Jo Meyocks

Marci Jo Meyocks, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on June 9, 2022. Marci was born on November 6, 1958, in Rockford, Illinois. The only girl and the last child of Richard Dean Meyocks and Donna Lee (Floyd) Meyocks. Marci graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and studied BA in Music at Iowa State University.Marci had an incredible voice and a love of music.

Carol Jean Goodchild

Carol Jean Goodchild of Van Horne, passed away at the age of 60 on July 17th, in Cedar Rapids, IA, surrounded by her loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial will held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Rev. Brian Dellaert, and Rev. Jim Miller as celebrants.  Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, rural Keystone.

Richard Ellsworth Sisco, 76, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at UIHC in Iowa City.Visitation will be at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton on Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Graveside services with full military rites will follow at 12: 30 p.m., Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.Rich was born October 22, 1945 in Norfolk, VA, the son of Richard and Evelyn (Deal) Sisco, Sr.

Ronnie Dean Schoeberl, 53, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at his home in rural Center Point.A celebration of Ronnies life will be held from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Private family interment will be held at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.

Helen Mason, 93, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 Virginia Gay Nursing Home in Vinton.A Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, at First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., Mason City. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11 at the church on Saturday.

William G. "Bill" Beyer

William G. "Bill" Beyer, 86, of Epworth, Iowa formerly of Farley, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Ennoble Manor in Dubuque, Iowa.Visitation for Bill will be held after 11 a.m. on Monday at Epworth United Methodist Church in Epworth.Services for Bill will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022, at the Epworth United Methodist Church with Pastor Stephanie Schlimm and Pastor Mike Jones presiding.

Amelia Ann Brandt

Amelia Ann Brandt, the infant daughter of Brittany and Tyler Brandt, was born July 13, 2022 at the Helen G. Nassif Center, Cedar Rapids, IA. After gracing her family for a short time, she returned to her heavenly home.To lose an infant it’s hard to express how a family feels, there are no first steps, no first words, only hopes and dreams of what might have been.

Shirley Jeanne (Siefken) Beneke

Shirley Jeanne (Siefken) Beneke died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Scottish Rite Park in Des Moines . She was born June 20, 1925 in Rembrandt, Iowa to R.J. and Emma (Rosene) Siefken. After earning her elementary teaching certification from Iowa State Teachers’ College (now University of Northern Iowa), Shirley taught fourth grade in Laurens, Iowa. In 1947 she married Leland Beneke and they operated the family farm in Laurens for several years before his career change moved the family to Grinnell and then to Vinton.
