Roseann Hovey, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Benton House of Tiffany Springs in Kansas City, Missouri.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, December 9, 2022 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins, with Rev. Doug Woltemath officiating. Interment will be held at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Atkins. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 8, from 4 to 7PM, also at the church. Betty Jean Stallman
Betty Jean Stallman, 99 of Norway died Thursday, December 1, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Jude Catholic Church by Rev. Nicholas March. Marcella Dee (Ledeker) Ritter, 75, of Cedar Rapids, IA (formerly of Belle Plaine, IA) passed away November 30, 2022 at her home.Dee was born November 17, 1947 to Ray W. and Velma Jane (Peavler) Ledeker at her grandmother’s home in Le Roy, IL. Lyle Edwin Schneider, age 81, of Denver, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Mercy One Covenant Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.Lyle was born on October 28, 1941, in Bremer County, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Esther (Klemp) Schneider. Donald W Smith, 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Vinton on November 27th, 2022. To honor Don’s wishes, there will be no public services. Donald was born May 18th, 1932, in Vinton Iowa, the son of Ralph and Susan Smith. A graduate from Lincoln High School 1950 in Vinton. He served with the United States Army shortly after the Korean war from 1953-1955 as a supply sergeant. Miriam I. Canfield
Miriam I. Canfield, age 102 and 6 months, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022 at Keystone Care Center. There will be no public services. There will be a memory plaque at Garden of Memories in Waterloo, Iowa. Miriam was born on May 26, 1920, in Titonka, Iowa, the daughter of Merland Q. Knoll and Gladys (Chapman) McKinney. Russell “Red” Lee Kimm, 87, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away November 28, 2022 at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids.Russell was born on November 17, 1935 to Porter and Esther (Schaffer) Kimm in Blairstown, IA. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Walt Portwood Farm. Red retired from Midland Forge after 35 years of service.
