Dale John Leary, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, May 7, 2023 at his home. At this time there will be no services. Teahen Funeral Home and Cremation is serving the family.Dale is survived by son, Derek (Lisa) Leary of Frisco, TX; daughter, Ellen (Rick) Popenhagen of Atkins; and granddaughter, Julianne LaCour of The Colony, TX.He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn; his parents; and sister, Ann Jensen.

Marilyn Joyce Primrose Frimml, 95, of Lisbon, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon, surrounded by her loving family.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.

Janette Beck Strieder, 70, of Ponder, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023.Janette was born September 29, 1952, in Belle Plaine, Iowa, to Dale and Ruth Beck. She moved to Texas in 1981, where she met and married Joe Strieder, September 1, 1984. She loved gardening and was very proud of her many, beautiful flower gardens.Janette is survived by her husband of 38 years; sons, Nick (Roni) Meek, Chad (Tonya) Meek and Bret (Shawna) Meek; siblings, Shirley Share, Linda (Neil) Potter, William (Sharon) Beck, Nathan (Terria) Beck, twin sister, Janice (Steve) Howard, Colleen (John) Bazyn, Denise Beck and Dale (Denise) Beck Jr.

Mary D. Berard, 88, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Lake Vermilion, Minn., and Iowa City, passed away on April 27, 2023, in Des Moines.Mary was born May 13, 1934, in Panora, Iowa, to Gerald “Bud” and Flora “Alice” (Cahow) Paullin. She married David H. Berard and they owned/operated the Pronto Convenience Store in Coralville, and later moved to Lake Vermilion, Minn.

Marilyn June Rethman, 91, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away May 5, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care. Marilyn was born September 27, 1930 to Floyd and Verna (Allen) Henkle in Belle Plaine, IA. She attended Buckeye Country School and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Following school, she was trained in office management, learning how to keep book, eventually working for Funk’s and later Iowa Electric.

Michael J. White, Sr., 68 of Clinton, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, May 19th, 2023 at "The Warehouse" located at 110 North Second Street, Clinton. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Larry Lee Sturtz, 76, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.Visitation will be Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Phillips Funeral Home in Blairstown.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating.  A luncheon will follow at Grace Lutheran Church.

George Edward Cleppe, 76, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away May 2, 2023, surrounded by family, at St. Luke’s Hospital due to complications after surgery.George was born July 15, 1946 to Cyril and Catherine Cleppe. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, class of 1964. George continued his education at the University of Iowa, earning a degree in engineering.

Natica Renelle Dornan, 51, passed away at her home in Greenville, North Carolina on April 20, 2023. Tica, as she was known, was born on December 6, 1971. Tica lived in Vinton, Iowa during most of the 1970s before moving to Virginia Beach, VA where she graduated high school and lived the majority of her teen through adult life.Tica was a lover of nature and especially horses.

VINTON-Diane Berniece Buckingham, 75, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2023. Per Diane’s wishes there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Diane’s family.Diane was born July 10, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, daughter of Paul J. and Berniece (Fritz) Duello. She graduated from Washington High School, Vinton in 1965.
