Scott Alan Schallau, age 54, died Saturday, January 28, 2023, from injuries suffered in a snowmobile accident.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Van Horne, with Rev. Craig Steimel as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the church in Van Horne.
Mary (Netta) Siefken
Mary (Netta) Siefken, age 101, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Blairstown in the spring, followed by a reception at the Blairstown Presbyterian Church.Mary was born on August 30, 1921 in Shiloh Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Nettie (Harms) Stutzman.

Marlys Marie Floyd 86, of Cedar Rapids died Friday, January 27, 2023 at the home of her daughter. Services: 10:30 am, Wednesday, at St. Patrick Catholic Church by Rev. Dennis Miller. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday after 9:30 a.m. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.Marlys is survived by two sons, Gary and Jeff Floyd both of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Becky (Doug) Pippert of Keystone and Cindy Crow of Luzerne; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert of Missoula, Montana and Michael (Berta) Williams of Norman, Idaho; and sister, Tammy (Jim) Jahner of Kalispell, Montana.
John Allen Armstrong (aka Papa John)
John Allen Armstrong (aka Papa John) was the son of Golden N. and Lavina F. (Schutle) Armstrong. He was born August 29, 1929, on the family farmstead located in Atkins, Iowa. He attended Atkins High and Iowa State where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. John joined the Air Force in 1951 and worked in Air Force Intelligence.
Mary Marler
Mary Marler passed away on Jan. 19, 2023, at the age of 91, in Cedar Rapids. She was born in Dysart, Iowa, on June 11, 1931, the daughter of George and Anna Hay. Mary was married to William Marler in 1986 in Tampa, Fla., where she made her home.Mary was a registered nurse having graduated from Mercy Hospital School of nursing in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1952 and retiring from nursing in 1992, after serving 40 years.

Teresa Wille, 61, of Hiawatha, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, as a result of ovarian cancer since 2016. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. Private family services will be held.Teresa was born the daughter of Helen and Francis Becker with her siblings Terry, Denise, and David in Norway Iowa.

Chris “Zippy” Lynn Lippincott
Chris “Zippy” Lynn Lippincott, 60, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away January 23, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.Chris was born December 7, 1962 in Marengo, IA to Charles Harvey and Sylvia E. (Wilson) Lippincott. In his youth he moved with his family to Buffalo, MO and eventually back to Belle Plaine where he attend Belle Plaine High School.Chris worked on Motorcycles which he learned from his older brother, Jeff.
Beverly A. McCardle
Beverly A. McCardle, 88 years old, of Brandon, Iowa, died on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at her home. She was born at the family farm in Brandon on December 1, 1934, the daughter of George Easom and Vivian Marie (Bassett) Peck. She graduated from high school in Brandon with the Class of 1952. On April 4, 1954, she and John McCardle were married in Independence, Iowa.
