Rosemary “Rosie” (Rodenhofer) Mangold, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.Rosie was born on August 19, 1940, in Tuscaloosa, AL the daughter of Ernest and Mary Ida (Godfrey) Rodenhofer.  In 1973, she was united in marriage to Leo C. Mangold at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Rosie chose to donate her body to the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine for scientific study.

Ronald “Ron” Keith Flickinger, 86, died peacefully Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Virginia Gay Nursing and Rehab, Vinton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vinton, with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Scripture Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19 at the church. Those not attending the Scripture Service may visit with the family from 4:30 to 7:00 p.

Rhonda Jean (Denger) Wittrock, 63, of Belle Plaine, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, January 13, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA, under hospice care.  Rhonda was born July 11, 1959 to Donald and Roberta (Carlin) Denger in Davenport, IA. She graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1977, then attended St.

Kevin Neal Heckmann, 58, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following a courageous battle with cancer.A private family celebration of Kevin’s life will be held in the spring.  A memorial fund has been established.Kevin was born on November 14, 1964, in Oelwein, the son of Neal Edward and Karen (Kobriger) Heckmann.

Terence “Terry” Joseph Claypool, 59, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a short illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, by Penny Ackerman. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday after 12:30 p.

Tony R. Smith, age 82, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at his home in Atkins.Memorial services will be held in the Spring of 2023, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Interment with graveside military rites will be held at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Atkins.Tony was born on October 15, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the son of Roy and Kitty (Kelso) Smith Sr.

John Wesley Carter, Jr. died peacefully in Roswell, Georgia on January 11, 2023. John loved the Lord and his family. He was funny, loving and kind and a great son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. John was born in Mooresville, North Carolina on June 25, 1939 and was raised in Lancaster, South Carolina.  He served in the U.

Donald Fred Franzenburg, 83, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January, 17, 2023, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, IA. Reverend David Lingard will officiate. Burial will follow in Keystone Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone.

When the heartache subsides, I have to come up with a new word, because 'thank you' is not enough. In this gray December, we have had the warmest hugs from all those who we already knew loved us. In everyday life, we fail to take the time to listen to how much we love each other. Please forgive us. When we received the worst call of our lives on Tuesday, December 6th, from that moment on and without stopping, we have been surrounded by so many hands, fed with shared tears, covered with words of comfort and lent so many hearts that the word 'thank you' is not enough.

MSGT Dominique Reneau Blank, USAF ret.On January 3rd, 2023 our family lost our guiding light, Dominique Reneau Blank, age 57, in Iowa City. The center of our family, she was a mother, daughter, wife, and best friend. Her amazing life journey inspired everyone she touched. Born in Tucson, Arizona on June 6th, 1965, she graduated from Ballard High School in Seattle, Washington and joined the United States Air Force in 1987.
