Leah Miller, 88, died Monday, November 21, 2022 at Windsor Manor, Vinton. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Blessed Hope Church, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home of Vinton is caring for Leah’s family.Leah is survived by five sons: Rick (Jackie) Miller of Rowlett, TX, Gary (Kathy) Miller of La Porte City, Doug Miller of Ankeny, Greg (Nancy) Miller of Humboldt and Dwight (Wendy) Miller of Broxton, GA; one daughter, Dianne (Jim) Blocker of Oxford, MI; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Covington of Hiawatha and Vivian Covington of Vinton.

Lane M. Lafler, age 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2022 at his home in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone with Chris Lafler officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday, November 25, 2022 at the funeral home.
Richard Eugene Parke
Richard Eugene Parke, age 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. Private family memorial services will be held at Church of Grace in Shellsburg. Richard was born on September 5, 1932, in Eldon, IA, the son of Edgar and Bertha (Doud) Parke. He graduated from Farmington High School with the class of 1950.

Terry Welton Shedenhelm
Terry Welton Shedenhelm, 83, of Belle Plaine, Iowa passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA.Terry was born March 8, 1939 in Marengo, IA the son of Cecil and Maxine (Welton) Shedenhelm. He attended country school at Kona-Kona near Marengo. His family moved north of Belle Plaine where he attended country school in Irving, and graduated from Belle Plaine High School the class of 1957.
Roger A. Wenner
Roger A. Wenner, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at his rural Vinton home, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 21, 2022 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th) in Vinton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, with graveside military rites.
Eudeana (Deana) Rae Larson
Eudeana (Deana) Rae Larson, 73, of Sheffield, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the IOOF Home in Mason City. A private ceremony will be held at the family farm near Brandon at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema-Atkinson Funeral Home in Hampton.Deana attended school in Brandon, Iowa and graduated from high school at Vinton, Iowa and Marshalltown School of Nursing.
Cynthia Louise (Benson) Blackburn
Cynthia Louise (Benson) Blackburn was born on September 5, 1955, in Waukon, Iowa. She was the first of 6 children born to William and Lois (Hertrampf) Benson. The family moved to Vinton in the early 60's where Cindy grew up, attended school, and graduated in 1974. She traveled to Minnesota to further her education as a Veterinarian's Assistant, a trade she loved and worked in for years after returning to Vinton.
Darrell Gene Covington
Darrell Gene Covington, age 55, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at his home in Vinton Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 21, 2022 at Blessed Hope Community Church in Vinton, with Pastor David Condry officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time, Monday, also at the church. Darrell was born on August 1, 1967, in Bakersfield, California, the son of Burl and Vivian (Crow) Covington.
Scott Andrew Dye
Scott Dye, 60, passed away on November 10, 2022. Scott was born in Wayzata, Minnesota. He graduated high school from Vinton, Iowa. Scott attended Hibbing Community College where he made lifelong friends playing football and completed his Business Associates Degree. He then continued on to Concordia College to further pursue his football career.
