George L. Vopelak Jr, 78, of La Porte City, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, 9:00-10:15am, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. A funeral service will immediately follow with military rites conducted by Dysart American Legion Post #335. The use of facemasks is recommended at the church. Donna Relf
Donna Relf, age 78, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at her rural Shellsburg home, surrounded by her loving family.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Oak Grove Christian Church in Shellsburg with Rev. Evelyn Asta (Sorensen) Petersen, age 93, passed away on Sunday, August 1st, 2021, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Blairstown Presbyterian Church in Blairstown. Hazel Abernathey Peters, age 105, died peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids.Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 24, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.Hazel was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1915 in Vinton, the daughter of Clarence and Orpha (Evans) Sanborn. Anna "Jane" Jenkins, of Shellsburg, Iowa, passed away Sept. 17, 2021, at the age of 88 following a short illness. Private family services are to be held at a later date.Jane was born Aug. 27, 1933. in St. Marys, Pa., the daughter of Ernest Meisel and Catherine (Nusbaum) Meisel.Early in her youth her family moved to Erie, Pa. Marijo R. Krogman, age 86 of Clinton, Iowa passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. In following Marijo's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 9:00 AM and a celebration of Mass will follow at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Prince of Peace Parish. Paige Marie Jacobi, 31, of Chelsea, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 13, 2021, at her home after a long, courageousbattle with cancer.Paige was born Nov. 17, 1989, to Stuart and Dana (Taylor) Rosenberger in Grinnell, Iowa. She was raised in Tama, Iowa, and attended South Tama High School, class of 2008. Following school, Paige worked for care centers in Tama, Keystone, Dysart, Belle Plaine and, most recently, the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown as a CNA and CMA. Joyce Marie Lint
Joyce Marie Lint, age 76 of Ft. McCoy, FL, formerly of Center Point, IA, died on Friday, September 10, 2021.Joyce was born in Ohio on July 23, 1945 to Jerauld and Alberta McElrath. The family then moved to Iowa and Joyce attended school in Brandon and La Porte City, graduating in 1963.She married the love of her life, Jesse Lint on June 15, 1972 and the two were inseparable until Jesse's death in 2001.
