Beatrice Anne Martin, 73, of Waukee, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home Monday, January 24, 2022.A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. Visitation will be 9:00a.m. to 10:30a.m. prior to the Mass, with lunch and fellowship in the church hall immediately following the service.

Sandra Kay Wendel, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. John Lutheran Church in Center Point with Rev. George R. Brewer

George R. Brewer, age 99, passed away Jan. 17 at Burnett Medical Center/Continuing Care Center (CCC) in Grantsburg.He was born Feb. 20, 1922, to Corliss and Ina (Wratislaw) Brewer in Vinton, Iowa, graduating from Vinton High School in 1941.  In 1942 he responded to an advertisement by the Federal Bureau of Investigation which was bolstering its ranks due to the War.

Linda Sanders

Linda Sanders, 69, of Shellsburg, Iowa, formerly of Atkins, Iowa, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022. A visitation will be held from2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Servicein Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be held at the Linwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Cedar Rapids.

Theodore “Ted” Ralph Koopman

Theodore “Ted” Ralph Koopman, 72, born in Colton, SD currently residing in Atkins, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022.  Service: 3:30 p.m., Sunday by Rev. Mark Murphy. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 11 to 3 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids.  Due to concerns over Covid, it is suggested that family members and friends wear a mask to any funeral event.

Larry Dean Dake

Larry Dean Dake, 80, died peacefully Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha of cancer.Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home in Vinton with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. Private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.Larry was born July 14, 1941 in Vinton, the son of James Harold and Erma Grace Reid Dake.

Wanda Lee Blake

Wanda Lee Blake, 87, of Marion died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a brief illness.  Services: 1 p.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at Teahen Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 3 to 5:30 p.m., and after 12 p.m. on Friday before the service. Due to concerns over the novel coronavirus, it is suggested that family members and friends wear a mask to any funeral event.

Lawrence Gene Mossman

Lawrence Gene Mossman, age 71, passed at his home in Blairstown, Iowa on January 25, 2022, with his wife Sandra Sue Mossman by his side.The EMS and Marengo Police Department gentlemen came with Sandra's call for their help.  They tried several minutes to revive Lawrence but were unable to do so.  Their help and being there was so much appreciated by Sandra and her family, knowing that they tried so hard to revive him.

Barb Holtz

Barb Holtz, 88 of Cedar Rapids passed away Monday, January 24, 2022. Private family services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church by Rev. Mark Murphy with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting Barb’s family.Barb was born August 13, 1933 to William and Fanny Broxey and grew up in the Palo area. She married Gerald Holtz on October 16, 1954.
