Henry B. Tippie
Henry B. Tippie passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2022.Henry was born on a farm near Belle Plaine, Iowa, on Jan. 5, 1927, to Robert and Amelia Tippie. He attended a one-room schoolhouse through the eighth grade and graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1944. He enlisted at age 17 in the Army Air Forces. He received the Army Commendation Medal while stationed in Guam. Thelma J. Frese
Thelma J. Frese, 97, of Watkins, IA passed away February, 23, 2022 at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo, IA.Thelma was born September 21, 1924 to James Earl and Mable Rosalie (Benesh) Tumilty on a farm South of Shellsburg. After moving with her family to four different farms during the depression years they ended up near Vinton, IA. Thelma graduated from Vinton High School in 1941 with a Normal Training Certificate, allowing her to teach school in Iowa for a period of two years. Betty Jean Larimer
Betty Jean Larimer, age 81, of Frazee, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022, in Brainerd, MN. A memorial service for Betty will be held on Thursday February 24, 2022, at 1:00pm at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Crosslake, MN. There will be a visitation prior to the service, at 11:00am. Jeanne Eleanor Crosby, 90 of Vinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA on February 17th. She was a 16-year resident of the Vinton Lutheran Home, where she was taken care of with love and treated like she was their own family by the staff. Erna Elizabeth Klinefelter, 95, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Anamosa, passed away Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, at Allen Hospital Waterloo, Iowa.Erna was born Dec. 23, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Grace (VonRoden) Nissen. Burial will take place at St. Michaels Cemetery, Norway with military honors.Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
