Henrietta B. Nickell

Henrietta B. Nickell, 79, passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 28, 2021. Interment was held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Funeral Home is assisting the family.Born to Gail and Esther Teed in Baxter, Iowa, Henrietta, or Hank as some called her, enjoyed homemaking, cooking, baking, sewing, cleaning, gardening, music and providing childcare for some of her grandchildren.

Jolene Maye Schuelka

 Jolene Maye Schuelka, 47, passed away, Monday, December 27, 2021 en route to Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids due to a pulmonary embolism.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date along with Graveside services.  She was born Aug.19, 1974 in Vinton, IA to John and Vicki (Tharp) Schuelka, Jr. She was a graduate of Vinton/Shellsburg and a charter member of VFW Aux.

Robert Charles Haage

Robert Charles Haage, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Loecke. The family will be available to greet friends and family one hour prior to service at the church.

Cobb, 98, died peacefully Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Hospice of Mercy, Hiawatha, IA.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Vinton. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton. Masks are encouraged. Inurnment will be later at the North English Cemetery, North English, IA.

Pamalia Mae Brubaker

Pamalia Mae Brubaker, 78, of Pekin, Illinois passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2021, at UnityPoint Health in Pekin. She was born January 20, 1943 in Pekin to Enrico and Maelta (Kincaid) Crociani. She married the love of her life, Richard Brubaker on December 5, 1970. He survives.Also surviving are her three sons, Kurt (Pam) Brubaker of Vinton, Iowa, Kent (Michelle Mason) Brubaker of Chicago and Kyle (Claire) Brubaker of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter, Chris (John) Walsh of Pekin; six grandchildren, Zach, AJ, Austin, Felicia, Hunter and Margo; one brother, Larry (Barb) Crociani; and three sisters, Jackie Hargrove, Nancy (Bill) Perry and Norma (Dennis) Bisans.

Michael "Nutster" D. Noe

Michael "Nutster" D. Noe, 63, of Rowley, Iowa, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021, at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa.Michael was born on Aug. 7, 1958, in Freeport, Ill., to Roger D. and Helen L. (Diehl) Noe. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to Garrison, and in 1972 the family started farming near Rowley. He was a 1976 graduate of the Independence High School.

Wally Embretson

 Wally Embretson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, also at the church.
