Larry Warren Feller

Larry Warren Feller, 70, of Keystone, Iowa, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Abels Funeral and Cremation Service-Engelkes Chapel in Grundy Center. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center.

George Dean Reiss

George Dean Reiss, 74, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at Unity Point Marshalltown Medical Center.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Van Horne, with Rev. David Lingard officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, with graveside military rites.

Dr. James H. Kruse

Dr. James Henry Kruse, 92, died in Colorado Springs, CO on March 25, 2021 with all of his loved ones by his side.James (“Jim”) was born in Vinton, Iowa on July 2, 1928 to Frank Barnes and Leota Malloy Kruse and he is the grandson of Henry George Kruse and Olive Barnes Kruse, founders of the Cedar Valley Daily Times. His parents preceded him in death as did his sister, Francine Kruse (Terrell) Strausz of Friday Harbor, WA.

John “Masher” Eugene Papesh

John “Masher” Eugene Papesh, 67, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away April 1, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family.John was born October 26, 1953 to Eugene and Joyce Papesh at the Corn Belt Hospital in Belle Plaine. He attended Belle Plaine High School. He drove a semi for his father for 3 years, then went to work for Manatt’s driving truck. Masher married Sandy Anderson and later separated.

Margaret “Peggy” Louise Daniels

Margaret “Peggy” Louise Daniels, 71, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Belle Plaine Specialty Care, Belle Plaine, IA.Peggy was born July 23, 1949 to Ward and Margaret (Walton) Hilton in Belle Plaine. She grew up in Elberon, attending the Elberon Community Schools as well as the Dysart Community Schools. Following school, she joined the workforce, working as a housekeeper for Keystone Care Center, Belle Plaine Community Center, and Methwick Manor in Cedar Rapids.

Timothy “Tim” Kemp

Timothy “Tim” Kemp, 65, passed away from lung cancer at the Ed and Joan Hemphill Hospice Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.Tim was born January 28, 1956 in Vinton, Iowa, the son of F. Rex and Marian Zimmerman Kemp.Tim worked at Iowa Concrete, Rockwell Collins and most recently at the Vinton Pizza Ranch.

Dennis J. Fratzke

Dennis J. Fratzke October 15, 1950 – March 31, 2021Dennis Fratzke, loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal Cubs fan passed away on March 31 in Iowa City after battling cancer. The son of Aaron Fratzke and Eleanor Johnson Fratzke, Dennis was born in Independence. There he met his wife of 51 years, the former Sandra Simon when she skated into his heart at a roller rink.

Norma Jean Chilcote

Norma Jean Chilcote, 85, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away March 30, 2021 at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.Norma was born November 12, 1935 in Oskaloosa, IA to Clifford and Juanita (Beach) Leathers. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Delta Community School. Following school, Norma worked as a seamstress at Big Smith Overhaul Factory in Oskaloosa where she met Clifford Chilcote.

Sheila Rae (David) Behn

Sheila Rae (David) Behn, 79, peacefully passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by family on March 29, 2021. Public visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel Stateroom.Sheila was born in Forest City, Iowa, on Aug. 7, 1941. She graduated from Washington High School and furthered her education at the University of Nebraska in the field of radiological technology.

Robert McFarland

Robert Levi McFarland, 46, of Ely, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, while performing his duties as a Correctional Officer at Anamosa State Penitentiary in Anamosa, Iowa.   Public visitation will be from 1:00 p.m.  until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2021 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.
