Darrin Joseph Upah

Darrin Joseph Upah, 49, of Ottumwa, formerly of Belle Plaine, IA gained his angel wings, November 17, 2021.Darrin was born May 19, 1972 to Russell and Maxine (Kacer) Upah in Cedar Rapids, IA. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1990. Continuing his education at Kirkwood Community College in CAD and obtaining an AA degree in Computer Science.

Patricia Darlene Eash Hagen

Patricia Darlene Eash Hagen, 85, of Waverly, Iowa, died on November 15, 2021. Patricia was born September 21, 1936 in Wellman, Iowa, to Doris Patricia (Foreman) Eash and Stanley Monroe Eash. She grew up on the family farm near Wellman graduating from Wellman Public High School in 1954. She attended the University of Iowa with a double major in voice and piano, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree, and also attended Drake University where she completed an elementary and junior high classroom teaching degree.

Ardith M. (Andresen) Lafler

Ardith M. (Andresen) Lafler, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating.  Interment will be at the Keystone Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.

Eddie Ray Studebaker

Eddie Ray Studebaker of Quasqueton, IA died November 14, 2021, at the Buchanan County Health Center of diabetic complications. Eddie was born December 14, 1945, to Charles and Luella (Abernathy) Studebaker in Vinton, Iowa. He attended Vinton high school with the class of 1964.On November 23, 1964, he married Linda Geiger in Vinton. They had five children.

Daniel “Dan” W. Johnson

Daniel “Dan” W. Johnson, 55, of Belle Plaine, Iowa passed away Monday, November 15, 2021 following his battle with cancer.Dan was born August 11, 1966 to Roxy and Linda (McCaughey) Johnson in Anamosa, IA. He graduated from Lincoln Community High School, Stanwood, IA in 1984. From the time Dan graduated high school he was involved in Fire and EMS services.

Misty Kay Henle

Misty Kay Henle, 53, of Coralville, IA passed away November 15, 2021.Misty was born March 6, 1968 to Meryl and Marianne (Stephan) Hartung in Mason City, IA. Traveling with her family, they ended up in Mount Vernon where she graduated high school. In school she enjoyed marching band, playing the baritone saxophone. Following school, Misty spent a short time in Boston as a nanny.

Drusilla “Dru” Ann Rector

Drusilla “Dru” Ann Rector, 89, died peacefully November 16, 2021 following a long illness.Visitation will be at 9:30 followed by a memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Blessed Hope Church in Vinton with Pastor Matt Hantz officiating. Ruth Hanson, 96, of Porter, TX, formerly of Vinton, died November 10, 2021.A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prayer service at 11:00 a.m Friday, November 19, 2021 at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vinton.Ruth Margaret Hanson was born June 19, 1925 in Vinton, IA, the daughter of Erik Henning and Hilda Svenson Skoog.

Shirley J. Miller

Shirley Jean Miller, 91, of Luzerne, IA passed away November 14, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA.Shirley was born December 13, 1929 to Harold and Norma (Cronbaugh) Slaymaker at home. She enjoyed playing basketball for Victor High School and graduated in 1948. Shirley continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa, earning her teaching certificate.

Beverly Bieber

Beverly Bieber, 77, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away November 12, 2021 at Colonial Manor, Amana, IA.Beverly was born January 16, 1944 to Melbert and Bernice (Newton) Bieber on the East Coast. Moving with her family at a young age, she grew up in Vinton, IA and graduated from Vinton High School. Beverly continued her education at the University of Dubuque, earning her Bachelor of Sciences degree.
