A rosary will be recited at 1:45 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne, with visitation following from 2:00 until 5:00 PM, also at the church.

Marian (Mary) Siegfreid, 94, of Austin, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019, at her home after a seven-month battle with ovarian cancer.Marian Siegfreid, 94Mary was born Sept. 12, 1925, on a farm in Big Grove Township, Benton Country, Iowa, the daughter of George and Elsie (Hanneman) Schueler. Doris Lunde
Former Vinton teacher, Doris Lunde, 91, of Traer, died December 31, 2019, of natural causes. She was born July 12, 1928, in Quarry, Iowa, daughter of Jerome and Mamie (Haskell) Lunde. Doris graduated from high school in Marshalltown, and UNI (formerly Iowa State Teachers College) in 1948. Traer was her home while she taught for 31 years in several Iowa schools and after retirement.
Wilbur Clarence Kleckner
Wilbur Clarence Kleckner, 91 of Elma, Iowa, formerly of Riceville, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Colonial Manor. Wilbur was born August 21, 1928 in Riceville, to Henry Clarence and Opal Merle (Torney) Kleckner and was raised on the family farm. He attended a rural one-room school (Jamestown No. 8) through 8th grade and then graduated from Riceville High School in 1946.

Mary Kathryn "Kathy" Mahr Lea passed away on Dec. 25, 2019, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha. Private services held.Kathy was born Jan. 25, 1952, to Reginald and Evelyn Casey Mahr in Spring Grove, Minn. She graduated from Washington High School in Vinton and St. Luke's Nursing School in Cedar Rapids. She worked as a nurse at Iowa Lutheran in Des Moines and retired from the dialysis unit at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Shannan Lee Hughes, 47, of Vinton, passed away Dec. 27, 2019.Shannan is survived by his mother, Lorri Hughes of Palo; father, Philip Hughes of Toddville; sister, Tracy Hughes (Thanh Nguyen) of California; grandmother, Lavonne Furman of Cedar Rapids; girlfriend, Shirley Fraise of Shellsburg; several uncles, aunts and cousins; and his beloved Chessie, Scout.
