Richard “Tiny” Redmon Wright III

Richard “Tiny” Redmon Wright III, 65, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a short battle with cancer.Visitation will be held from 1 to 4 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2020, at the Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Private burial will follow at the Garrison Cemetery. Wearing a mask would be appreciated.

Arnold Rolfs

Arnold Rolfs, 100, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4. 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.  Private Graveside services will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.     Arnold was born on September 9, 1920, in rural Keystone, the son of John and Lil (Popp) Rolfs. On December 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Bernetta Junge in Cedar Rapids.

Lois Mary Hill

Lois Mary Hill, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 4. 2020 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.Memorial services will be held at a later date, with interment at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton.Lois was born on June 18, 1934 in Burke, S.D. the daughter of Frank and Alta (Livingston) Durst.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Sharon Kay (Metz) Kesterson

Sharon Kesterson, 82, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at Mercy Hospital. Private funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Oxford United Methodist Church. Sharon's service will be livestreamed on Thursday morning and can be viewed at the service time or anytime later. Shellie "Lo Lo" Laree Moore

Shellie "Lo Lo" Laree Moore, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Shellie had a two-year courageous battle with colon cancer. She was grateful for the time she had and made the most out of every moment. She relied on her faith, received spiritual guidance and counseling from Pastor Andrew Happ of Center Point United Methodist Church.

James D. “Jim” Shaffer

James D. “Jim” Shaffer, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illnessFuneral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Masks should be worn, and social distancing will be practiced at the church.

Mark Timmer, 79, died peacefully Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Visitation and funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Vinton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with military rites.
