James "Jim" Raymond Christy, 81, formerly of Vinton and later Nevada, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at Bethany Manor in Story City, Iowa.

Jim Narber of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away following a battle with cancer on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Jim was born June 21, 1922, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Nira (Primmer) and William Bateman Narber. Raised by a single mother in the throes of the Great Depression, Jim learned early the importance of an education, and the value of hard work and a job. Reverend Robert Phillips

The Rev. Robert P. Phillips, 101, of Britt died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Hancock Memorial Hospital in Britt. He was born September 17, 1909, the 8th child of W.E. Phillips and Mary (Shroyer) Phillips of New Sharon, Iowa. He graduated from New Sharon High School with the class of 1927 and received his undergraduate degree from William Penn in Oskaloosa in 1939.
