The “Steering Wheel Raffle” drawing will take place Monday at the 43rd Anniversary show at the Benton County Bullring! There is still time next weekend to purchase chances! One chance for $3.00, 2 for $5.00. The winner will be contacted by phone and announced at the track. A custom made 15 ½ inch race car steering wheel, valued at over $200.00, is entering the final turn this weekend and will be awarded this Monday.

The Iowa High School Sports Network will broadcast the IHSAA and IGHSAU State Track Meet May 19-21 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. It will be an anniversary special to remember on Monday, May 30 as Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $4,300 to win at Benton County Speedway’s 43rd Anniversary event. Winner of the Memorial Day feature at The Bullring earns Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. The main event also pays $400 to start while Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods run for $1,700 to win and a minimum of $170 to start their 17th Anniversary feature.

Vikette soccer shut out by Spartans 1-0SOLON – The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette varsity soccer (11-4) took on the Solon Spartans (13-3) at Solon's Spartan Stadium with the Spartans defeating the Vikettes 1-0 in the final regular-season match.Vikette senior forward Grace Sutton ended the regular season with 26 goals and junior Abby Davis concluded the regular season with 16 goals and ten assists.

Vikette soccer loses to Stormin' Pointers 4-0CENTER POINT – The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette varsity soccer team (11-3, 4-2 WaMaC West) took on the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers (10-3, 5-1 WaMaC West) at Fross Park in Center Point.The Stormin' Pointers got a goal past Vikette keeper Alyssa Griffith three minutes into the match, and never looked back, the led 3-0 at the half and won the match 4-0.
