Vinton-Shellsburg Bowlers Head to State!
Both the Girls' and Boys Bowling teams will advance to the state competition. Girls who will be competing individually include Anna Becker, Jozee White and Kylee Kirchner. McKenna serving on 2022 Board of Directors-Sports Field Management Association
Sports Field Management Association (SFMA) – the non-profit, professional association comprised of 2,700 men and women professionals overseeing sports fields worldwide and critical to athletes’ safety – recently confirmed its 2022 Board of Directors. James Bergdoll, Certified Sports Field Manager (CSFM), Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) was elected President and will serve a one-year term.
Shellsburg T-Ball/Little Leage Registration Begins
On Sunday, from 3-5 p.m., there will be a T-Ball/Little League sign up at the Shellsburg Elementary Gym. There is also an online form that can be completed to register for the season. See link here. Please mail the form in along with your payment. There is also a need for coaches.
Sanders brothers pin top ranks in their respective weight categories
As of Friday, February 11, IAwrestle released the following rankings for high school boys wrestling. In the 106# class weight, Freshman Jace Hedeman of Union, in LaPorte City placed 1st.113# in 10th place, Brayden Bohnsack,a Freshman at Union, LaPorte City.At 126#, Jaiden Moore of Benton Community, a Senior placed 1st.132# and 9th place, Caleb Olson a Sophomore at Union, LaPorte City Weighing in at 145# Cooper Sanders brought in a 1st place win for Vinton-Shellsburg as a Junior.

Boys Varsity was led by senior Riley Richart. Riley has shown his leadership skills all year on Varsity and assisting with coaching the newer players. Vikette basketball defeats Huskies in Class 3A Region 4 Quarterfinal 62-25VINTON – The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette varsity basketball team (14-8) took on the Oelwein Huskies (2-20) in Garrison Fieldhouse on Feb. 12 and earned a 62-25 win in quarterfinal action over the Huskies.Alyssa Griffith led the Vikettes with 17 points, Julia Johnson and Sophia Kreutner added 10 points each, Ashlie Meyer added eight, Abby Davis added six, Kalie Burke and Peytin Clemensen had four each and Addy Phippen scored three.

Stormin' Vikings On to State
Next weekend will bring one more swim meet, as for the third year in a row, the Stormin’ Vikings are on to State. Swimming in a highly competitive district at Linn-Mar, the team managed to qualify one relay and three individual events. The 200 Medley Relay of Bradyn Schlief, Carter Kirtz, Ian Allsup, and Logan Zearley qualified for state with a season best time of 1:42.
