Special Olympics IA Mid-Winter Tournament Mar. 11 & 12 in Iowa City & Coralville
~The tournament is open to the public, and admission is free.~ Athletes and Unified partners from across the state will assemble in Iowa City and Coralville on March 11 and 12 to compete in the Special Olympics Iowa Mid-Winter Tournament. The Mid-Winter Tournament will feature over 900 athletes and Unified partners competing in basketball skills, team basketball, cheer and dance, gymnastics, and powerlifting competitions.

Vikette basketball team finishes 15-9 (7-5 WaMaC West)As Rich Haisman entered his third season as the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette basketball head basketball varsity head coach, the Vikettes had compiled back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2003-04 and 2004-05. In 2019-20 the Vikettes finished 12-11 (7-5) and in 2020-21 they finished 18-5 (9-3) and in 2021-22 they finished 15-9 (7-5).
Iowa High School Sports Network to Broadcast Boys State Basketball Tournament
The Iowa High School Sports Network will broadcast all 28 Boys State Basketball Tournament games from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, March 7-11. Complete broadcast schedule.All games will be streamed for free at IHSSN.com and on the Watch IHSSN App. In addition, the quarterfinals and semifinals will be broadcast on the IHSSN Cable Network and the finals broadcast on the IHSSN Television Network.

They lost most of the scoring from the 2020-21 season. The Vikings started the season 0-6 and finished the season 3-12.
