VSU Swimming @ Kennedy 9/21
VSU Girls swam against the JV team of Cedar Rapids Kennedy last night and came out on top 92-79. VSU had some great swims on the night - a couple of highlights being Carlie Spore and Justyce Dominick achieving goal times in the 500 Freestyle that they've been working toward for a long time. Carlie and Justyce are unique coins in the swimming world - being both strong sprinters and strong distance swimmers.

Vikette volleyball goes 2-2 at the Hawk InvitationalMANCHESTER - The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikette volleyball team (12-10) traveled to Sedorrff Gym in Manchester for the Hawk Invitational on Sept. 19 and took on the Independence Mustangs, West Delaware Hawks, Oelwein Huskies, and Starmont Stars. They defeated the Stars 2-1, defeated the Huskies, 2-0 (21-14, 21-18), were defeated by the Mustangs 2-0 (21-15, 21-14), and defeated by the Hawks 2-0 (21-19, 21-8).

Viking football falls to No. 6 Mustangs 20-13VINTON - The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking varsity team (1-3) took on the sixth-ranked Independence Mustangs (4-0) at the Karr Athletic Complex on Sept. 17, and were defeated 20-13. On the first scoring drive of the game for the Vikings, they had the ball for 18 plays, 74 yards, and a 10:47 time of possession.

VSU swam at LinnMar with Tipton on Thursday night. Results are attached. Justyce Dominick won the 50 Freestyle in her fastest time this season. The girls have had some good times, we are happy with how the night went!

They defeated the Tigers and Pirates, 2-0, lost to the Lions 2-1 and lost to Bobcats 2-0.
VSU Wins 6-Team Invitation at Williamsburg
VSU swimmers had a great night in the pool last night! VSU came out atop the team standings against Grinnell, Keokuk, Centerville, Oskaloosa and host Williamsburg in a 6-team invitational. All of the girls put in a great effort, posting great times and supporting all their teammates along the way. It was a true collective effort that ended in a solid success.
