Wreck ‘Em at the Ring demolition derby Saturday at The Bullring
A $10,000 purse is up-for-grabs this Saturday, August 7 in the Wreck 'Em at the Ring demolition derby at the Benton County Fairgrounds.Saturday's event, held in memory of Jerry "Mike Hahn" Stanley and Jamie Schuelka, features six divisions of competition, including Gut & Go, Powder Puff - Gut & Go, Limited Weld Midsize, Limited Weld Full Size, Mini Van/Mini Truck/Mini SUV, and Kids Power Wheels.
Carter cashes in on another big payday at Benton County Speedway
When big money is on the line, Cayden Carter is the man to beat. Already the winner of the Urbana 5 Memorial last month, Carter picked up $1,250 Sunday night in the KISS Country 96.5 IMCA Modifieds during Autism Awareness Night at Benton County Speedway.From a second row start, Carter pursued Tommy Belmer and Chris Snyder at the on[st] of the 20-lapper before working his way into the lead. The Lil Racer Car Club at the Benton County Speedway Bullring signed in 54 Lil Racers at the clubhouse Sunday for Autism Awareness Night. Each child when they registered received raffle tickets free, to deposit in buckets for wonderful gifts down by the Autism Awareness Raffle table, in addition to our weekly prize giveaways. Because of some wonderful supporters of the club, we gave away a LARGE remote control truck and two American Girl dolls, in addition to our other prizes.
2021 Summer Iowa Games Kicks Off with Virtual Opening Ceremony
The 2021 Summer Iowa Games presented by Grinnell Mutual is underway and will official kick off the main weekend festivities with a virtual Opening Ceremony sponsored by 3M, which will air on Friday, July 30 at 7 p.m. via the Iowa Games Facebook page and YouTube channel.This year's event will feature the National Anthem sung by world renowned opera singer and native Iowan, Simon Estes, along with the oath of athletes recited by Matt Campbell.

This Sunday night at the Benton County Speedway Bullring Lil Racer Car Club will be our "Back to School Night" Backpack Giveaway! Over 100 backpacks, filled with school supplies, will be given away to school-age kids as they get ready to head back to the classroom this Fall with their friends. All kids under the age of 14 are invited to stop by the Lil Racer Clubhouse and sign our Registration sheet, where they will then receive a ticket, which will need to be handed to our Backpack Coordinator, Janice Smith, in order to receive a brand new pack for school.
Ballard has historic night at Benton County Speedway
Nathan Ballard won for the 49th time in his career on the Benton County Speedway oval in IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock action Sunday night. The Benton County Bullring Lil Racer Car Club will be getting back to our normal ways this Sunday after taking a back seat to the Urbana 5 Group, who had goody bags and a bicycle giveaway last Sunday night. We did begin our "Kids Coloring for Trophies!" promotion again last Sunday as some recent trophy donations have allowed us to start handing them back out to kids who take the time to color us a picture, bring the picture to us at the clubhouse, and exchange it for the trophy of their choosing.
