Benton County Board of Supervisor Minutes June 18, 2024
June 18, 2024The Benton County Board of Supervisors met in regular session with Supervisors Primmer, Bierschenk and Seeman present. Supervisor Primmer called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. at the Benton County Service Center. JODY (MADLOM) PUFFETT FOR CONGRESS
Jody (Madlom) Puffett of Delhi announced today that she is running for U.S. House of Representatives for Iowa’s 2nd District in
the November general election as an Independent candidate.
When asked about her motivations, Puffett responded, “Five months from now will likely be the most critical election in our nation’s history.
Candidly, our country is in a free-fall, and I don’t believe we have hit rock bottom yet.

Benton County Supervisor Meeting Notes 6/25/24
The Benton County Supervisors called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The agenda, minutes and claims were approved as well as a $6,500 ARPA claim. Barb Greenlee, presented for approval a farm exemption application for Karen Fountain in a part of SE ¼ SW ¼ of Section 6, T84N, R10W to build another house. It was approved. Approval was granted for a Class C Retail Alcohol License for Beyonder Resort at Lazy Acres LLC.

Sarah Corkery “Meet and Greet”
The Benton County Democrats are hosting a “Meet and Greet:” with Sarah Corkery at the home of Robert and Thelma Huffer one half mile East of Atkins - watch for signs. The meeting will be June 30th from 3:00pm til 5:00pm. Come and socialize with food and drinks and ask questions of Sarah about her campaign. Sarah is running for U.S. Representative in Iowa’s 2nd District against incumbent, Ashley Hinson.
