For working adults worried they don't have enough time for college, people who are between jobs and need more skills, and those who are working but know they could find a better job, the path to education just got a little more clear.

Money Available for Conservation Practices
Financial assistance may be available thru the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) to help producers implement practices such as cover crops, no-till, strip-till, grassed waterways, terraces, basins, and more. EQIP offers financial assistance to livestock producers to install pipelines, watering tanks, and wells used for livestock water as well as providing assistance to install interior fencing, rotationally graze, and improve your forage quantity and quality.

The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, September 8th, will be Swiss Steak, Parslied Potatoes, Green Beans, Fruit Cocktail, Cake, WW Bread, Milk.
On Monday, July 15th, games of Pepper Cards were played. First place went to Don Selken with 303 points. LaVonne Henkle won 2nd place with 273 points. Third place was a tied between Irene Geiger and Evelyn Greenwood with 267 points.

Dual listed classes let students try college for less
For those who’ve wanted to take college credit classes but either didn’t want to commit an abundance of time and resources, or weren’t sure if college was the right choice for them, Kirkwood has introduced dual listed classes.
Designed for working adults, dual listed classes are academic credit classes listed in the Kirkwood Continuing Education class catalog.

Preschool Scholarship Funding Available
Better Tomorrows Early Childhood Iowa is announcing that applications are available for preschool tuition assistance for children who reside in Benton and Tama County. In order to qualify for scholarships, children will need to attend a contracted licensed center or preschool facility. To be eligible families must show proof of income and be at or below 200% of poverty.
