Gov. Reynolds signs several bills into law
Gov. Reynolds signed the following bills into law: HF2300 A bill for an act relating to protections for certain members of the military concerning employment and insurance coverage and making penalties applicable. HF2155 A bill for an act relating to preneed sellers and purchase agreements for cemetery merchandise, funeral merchandise, and funeral services, providing penalties, and including applicability provisions.
Hello District 75 from the State Capitol!
The Iowa Legislature was in session on Tuesday, April 26th and passed a handful of bills, with HF 2128 having the significance for Iowans. This is the biofuels bill that finally cleared the Senate chamber with a few changes and sent back to the House chamber. The House passed it with 81 bipartisan votes and it’s now on its way to Governor Reynolds awaiting her signature.

Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners May 18 Meeting
The next regular meeting of the Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioners will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the District Office, 1705 West D Street in Vinton. Agenda items include: approval of minutes from previous meetings, public participation, approval of treasurer’s report and bills, approval of conservation plans, watershed reports, state cost-share programs, an update on NRCS activities, a review of the correspondence file, any other commissioner input or other business, and scheduling of the next meeting.
