Veterans have a chance to have their voices heard, for generations

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has delivered the stories of 16 more Iowa veterans to the Library of Congress for the Veterans' History Project, an initiative that seeks to ensure veterans' unique stories - ranging from World War I to present day - are preserved and not lost to history. Last November, Grassley's office interviewed Iowa veterans at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, Iowa to document their selfless service to our nation.

Former US Representative Rod Blum Tapped as Iowa State Chair for US Term Limits

Today, U.S. Term Limits announces former United States Representative Rod Blum has agreed to be the Iowa State Chair for U.S. Term Limits. Blum with his time in Congress brings a depth of public service to this role. He has seen first-hand the need for term limits at the federal level and will work tirelessly in his role as Iowa State Chair to see that Iowa adopts a resolution for term limits.

Supervisors approve Compensation Board Recommendations

The Benton County Supervisors approved the recommendation of the Compensation Board to accept the pay raises of the elected officials. This will grant a 28.5% pay increase for the Sheriff due to the Back the Blue bill passed in Iowa as well as a 10% increase for all of the elected officials.The decision is tied into the required pay raise of the Sheriff to bring his salary up to the required salary set by state officials.
