Area children wrap up their first week of school

Area children arrived at school during the hottest week that we've had for a long time! Wednesday morning found children and sometimes parents arriving at Tilford Elementary and the teachers ready to welcome the students back to school Several arrived ready to take on the day.

Area Student Assists the local Fire Department

The Vinton Fire Department recognized an area student for helping to make their lives a little easier. In a post on Facebook the department thanked Wes McKenna for his help in designing a revolving tool holder that fits in the side of the fire truck.
