Riverside playground, Ninja Zone to open at 5 today

The Vinton Parks and Rec Department has announced that after much work and many rain delays over the past month, the Riverside Park playground area and Ninja Zone will open at 5 pm.

American Legion in Search of World War I Memorabilia for event

The American Legion, is seeking the help of the community in gathering any World War I era memorabilia. Tourist Group visits Vinton for a Meal and Tour

Bernadine Agnes Martin Schallau, 94, born Jan. 15, 1924, in Victor, Iowa, entered into eternal life on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at the Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch, where she had been wonderfully cared for during the last five years.

Accident downtown Vinton, no injuries reported

Vinton Fire Department and Vinton Police responded to a call Wednesday afternoon, September 26 at 2:45 pm for a traffic accident at the intersection of 1st ave and East 5th st.

Downpour causes Temporary Street Closures

If you were out and about town today around 1:00 p.m., you know that roads were just about impassable due to the heavy rainfall we received. From 218, through to the downtown area, roads were flooded due to the downpour.
