VSEA honors retirees, name Jon Temple as Teacher of the Year

VSEA honorees: Member of the Year - Marsha Furlong, Friend of Education - Shawn Van Fossen, Teacher of the Year - Jon Temple. Vinton-Shellsburg educators and support staff who are retiring at the end of this school year received recognition at the annual VS Education Association reception at the Vinton Skate Center Wednesday afternoon.

VS senior Jamie Thompson recognized at Governor's Scholar Ceremony

Vinton-Shellsburg senior Jamie Thompson was among Iowa's top academic students honored by Iowa's Governor Branstad on Sunday, April 30, at the 15th Annual Governor's Scholar Recognition Ceremony at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines The Governor's Office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and its title sponsor, the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation, presented this recognition program.
