Sleep apnea testing offered at VGH sleep clinic
Sleep Apnea is a common and treatable disorder that affects millions of men, women and children of all ages, shapes and sizes. Unfortunately it is often undiagnosed, despite the potentially serious consequences of the disorder. It is estimated that at least ten million Americans have unrecognized and/or untreated Sleep Apnea.
‘Apnea Episodes’ are defined as temporary loss of breathing.

Council members question airport engineering firm's 'overhead' billing
The Vinton City Council approved an agreement with Clapsaddle-Garber Associates for designing the rehabilitation and widening of Runway 9-27 at the Vinton Municipal Airport, but not without questioning the expense.
Council member Bud Maynard, himself a project manager who has billed for labor on large jobs, said it seemed very expensive for Clapsaddle-Garber to charge $9,950.

Stark to Join Vinton City Council; 4th Ward to be filled via write-in votes
With no contested races on the Vinton city ballots, the changes to the City Council were mostly known before the election. Mayor John Watson and Council member Ron Elwick (2nd Ward) ran unopposed. At-large council member Don Burkey did not seek re-election; Tami Stark ran unopposed for his seat.
In Vinton's 4th Ward, Lisa Vermedahl did not seek re-election.
Nov. 14 meetings to offer information on assistance to storm-affect homeowners
Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) awarded Benton County the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) on October 27th, 2011. This grant will assist low-income, un-insured/under insured homeowners, living in the home at the time of the disaster. Assistance will be limited to the main structure of the home, (no garages, outbuildings, trees, equipment or vehicles).
