Lisa Marie Kirk, 53, of Vinton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, is caring for Lisa and her family.Lisa was born December 28, 1970, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jerry and Ruth (Zahn) Bascom.

Donna Heilman, age 87, of Storm Lake, Iowa died Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Methodist Manor in Storm Lake.Memorial Mass will take place Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Mary's Tuition Assistance 300 East 3rd Street Storm Lake, Iowa 50588.

Harold “Hap” Junge, age 88, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024 at The Keystone Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone, with Pastor Josiah Schultz officiating. Private family interment will be held following the service at Keystone Cemetery, once the family returns a reception will follow at St.

Geraldene “Susie” Shulgin, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away August 14, 2024, in Anchorage, Alaska from complications of cancer. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2024, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marsha Elizabeth Olson Robles on August 9th, 2024, in Merida, Mexico, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.  Marsha was born in 1950 on a farm in Vinton, Iowa.  She was a woman of adventure, deeply curious about the world and passionate about sharing its wonders with others.

Janet K. Burroughs, age 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Vinton Lutheran Home, with her loving family by her side.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM,  Wednesday, August, 21, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vinton with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

     Janet Maria (Phelps) Lovell, age 69, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, following a sudden illness.     Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Harvest 365 Church in Vinton, with Pastor Bryan Lund officiating.  Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.

Darlene Mae (Geiger) Werning, 91, passed away on Monday August 12, 2024, at her daughter’s home in rural Vinton.       A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 PM, Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Private family interment will be held at Big Grove Cemetery, at a later date.

Sandra Jean Christensen, 86 of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at her home.Sandra was born February 25, 1938, in Waterloo, IA the daughter of Harold William and Lavera (Peters) Holloway. At an early age she moved with her family to Cedar Rapids where she graduated from Franklin High School. Following school, she joined a traveling band singing her way around the Midwest.

Geraldine Marie Sternitzke, 92, was born January 26, 1932 in Norway, Iowa to John Adam and Mary Ann (Schroeder) Schulte. She passed away on August 9, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Donald Lee Sternitzke after 59 years of marriage and by her sister Madonna and brother Francis. She is survived by her son Kent (BG) and daughters Mary Ellen (Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Tera (Hinsdale, Illinois), by her grandchildren Kendra, Erin, Corey and Noah Shamley (WY) and Anna, Matthew and William Mazure (IL), and one great granddaughter Fox Shamley (WY).
