Clifford L. Stacy, 73, passed away on Dec. 2, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. Per his wishes there will be no funeral. The family will have a celebration of life on December 29 at the Brandon Community Center, Brandon, Iowa from 1 pm to 4 pm. Family and friends welcome.Cliff was born on July 20, 1951 in Oelwein, Iowa to L.J. and Meeta (Crawford) Stacy.

Dorthea Jean “Vavroch” Collum, 80, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away at Compass Memorial Health Care, Marengo, IA.Dorthea was born March 10, 1944 to Emil L. and Evelyn L. (Benn) Vavroch on the family farm near Elberon, IA. She attended Belle Plaine High School. Following her education, she worked at the Lincon Café and Belle Plaine Community Center.

Yvonne Morene (Holst) Zimpfer, age 62, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics following a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.     Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 9, 2024, at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton with Tyler Henkle officiating.

Richard L. “Dick” Jordan age 87 of Nashua, IA, died Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.Friends may greet the family 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in Nashua with family remarks beginning at 7:00 pm.  Private family burial will take place at a later date.

Donna Lee Becker, 84, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, November 30, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids. The burial will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday at Shiloh Cemetery in Hiawatha, Iowa.Donna was born on August 24, 1940, in Urbana IA, the daughter of Donald and Leila (Miller) Brennaman and the oldest of three children.

Dennis Irwin Wood, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and distinguished aviator, passed away peacefully December 1st, 2024 at the age of 74 of Glioblastoma, a brain tumor. Born on April 3, 1950 in Vinton, IA. Dennis lived a life filled with service, adventure, humor, and deep devotion to his family and friends.Dennis served during the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot, earning respect and admiration for his bravery.

Elliana “Ellie” Lane, 27, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 18, 2024.  A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 1 p.m. to ?, at the Izaak Walton League-Red Cedar Chapter, 5667 24th Avenue Drive, Vinton.  Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, is caring for Ellie and her family.Ellie was born September 14, 1997, at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, TX.

After a brief illness, surrounded by loving family, Elaine M. Wille, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2024. Private family services will be held. A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is caring for the family.Elaine was born March 1, 1942, in Springville, the daughter of Melvin and Alice (Vahl) Rich.

Alvin “Tuffy” Howard Kite, 63, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30, 2024, at UI Health Care Medical Center, Iowa City.  A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14. 2024, at Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, VintonAlvin was born September 21, 1961 in Atlantic, IA, the son of Dale and Joanne (Kiesel) Kite.

Joan Miriam Nix (Kramer), 57, of Vinton, died Monday, November 25, 2024, in Unity Point St. Lukes Hospital from a long illness. Celebration of Life Services will be scheduled for Spring of 2025. Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her mother, Sharon McKnight of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her lifetime partner, Chad Peterson of Vinton, Iowa, her sister, June Dillon of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her uncles, Allan and Eldon Blessing, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her grandchildren, Khalid, Malachi, Mason Al-yasiri, Chance Richards, Trendon, Robert, and Mathew Walker, and many more family and friends.
