Carla Kay Sokol

Carla Kay Sokol, 65, of Grinnell passed away peacefully on Sunday February 23rd next to her loving husband, Steve.Born November 25th, 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa to Glen and Shirley (Schlicht) Aswegan. She grew up around Van Horne and graduated from Benton Community Schools in 1978.  Carla was the 2nd youngest of 7 siblings.On August 6th ,1983 Carla was united in marriage to Steve Sokol at the Belle Plaine Congregational Church.

Diana Rae Buhr

Diana Rae Buhr passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Rose Haven Nursing Home in Marengo. Diana leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Blairstown Presbyterian Church with Pastor Diane Vorhies officiating. David Carl Henkle

David Carl Henkle, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February, 21, 2025 at his home in Vinton.A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 5:00 PM, Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6thStreet) in Vinton.  A memorial fund has been established.  Interment with graveside military rites will be held in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery with his parents.

Faith Ann Brown

Faith Ann Brown, 60 died peacefully Saturday, February 22, 2025, at home.Born, June 24, 1964, in Algona, IA she was the daughter of Anna Zita and Rex Brown. Growing up on the family farm in rural West Bend, she was very proud to say she was a farmer’s daughter.After graduating from West Bend High School, she received her journalism degree from ILCC in Estherville, IA.

Todd Vincent Pattee

Following a lengthy illness, Todd Vincent Pattee, 53, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2025, at his residence in Keystone. No services will be held. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home, Vinton, is caring for Todd and his family.Todd was born June 22, 1971, in Waterloo, the son of Richard and DeAnn (Kashmark) Pattee.

Ilene Catherine (Pickart) Paulsen

Ilene Catherine (Pickart) Paulsen, age 91, of Coralville, formerly of Keystone, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, February 20, 2025.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 28, at 11:00 a.m at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Jacob Dunne as celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.

Jennifer (Jenny) Eileen Rawson Hutchins

Jennifer (Jenny) Eileen Rawson Hutchins, 55, of Cedar Rapids, peacefully passed away at her home on Saturday, February 22, 2025 surrounded by family. As per Jenny's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services. Darlene H. Wedo

Darlene H. Wedo, 90 of Urbana passed away February 17 at the Hiawatha Care Center.Darlene was born November 27, 1934, and married Arthur Wedo on May 30, 1952.Darlene is survived by her grandsons Ben (Tiffany), Bradley (Jessi), BJ (Ashley), great-grandchildren Brian, Jordan, Kellen, Broderick, and Jordan Rose. Darlene is also survived by her daughter-in-law Laura (Jimmy), her dear friend Sue and many people who knew and loved her.

Elissa Fiferlick

Elissa Fiferlick, 44, passed away on February 17th, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held in April by the family. Elissa was known as kind, generous person with a big, radiant smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She looked forward to any time she got to spend with her family and cherished the life of her beloved son Cristian “CJ”.She is survived by her parents: Tim Fiferlick & Donna Fiferlick, sister: Melia (Josh) Zaruba, brother: Blake (Steph) Fiferlick, grandmother: Illa Nelson, of Vinton, nieces: Lily, Sophie & Emmi Zaruba, nephews: Max & Jordy Fiferlick, and boyfriend: Doug Cavalier, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Charles Allen Morrison

Charles Allen Morrison, 80, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away February 16, 2025 at Sunny Hill Care Center, Tama, IA. Charles was born December 9, 1944 to Daniel and Ruth (Struve) Morrison. Charles attended Belle Plaine High School. Following school, he worked various jobs around Tama County. Charles enjoyed hunting in his youth and loved to fish, especially at his favorite place Holiday Lake.
