Joseph William Bartosh

 Joseph William Bartosh, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2021 at his rural Dysart home.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone.  Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery with graveside military rites.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Dale Humiston (“Hummer”)]

Dale Humiston (“Hummer”), 80, of Rio Verde, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2020. Dale was born April 30, 1940 in Burlington, Iowa. He was the son of Robert Paul and Francis (Crammond) Humiston.Dale graduated from Wapello High School and went on to the University of Iowa, earning a degree in accounting and becoming a CPA in Des Moines, Iowa.

Clarence Eldon Krakow

Clarence Eldon Krakow, 89, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, passed away Dec. 29, 2020, at Belle Plaine Specialty Care.Clarence was born Jan. 7, 1931, to Ernest and Anna (Kayler) Krakow in Marengo, Iowa. He attended school in Marengo and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 until 1954. Upon return from his service, Clarence moved back to Marengo to work construction, where he was a part of building Compass Memorial Healthcare.

Michael Allen Thomsen

Michael Allen Thomsen, 47, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital in Waterloo.No public services will be held at this time.Michael was born on November 9, 1973, in Vinton, the son of Robert Allen and Marcia (Rommann) Thomsen. He had worked at NAPA in Gladbrook.  Michael loved the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish when his health allowed.

Michael C. “Mike” Davis

Michael C. “Mike” Davis, 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

John Robert "Bob" Broadrick

John Robert "Bob" Broadrick, 79, of Vinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. There will be no services. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Su[st]te; sisters-in-law, Mary Broadrick and Penny McCullough; brother-in-law, William (Judith) Burmeister; and many nieces and nephews.

David E. Burris

David E. Burris, 67, of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Vinton, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Avenue Family Church in Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Vacha Burris; children, Mitchell (Ariel) Burris, Leigh-Kathryn (Bert) Suluvale, Reghan (Kaleb) Raubun, Micah Burris and Vaughn Kaitlin Burris; two brothers, Greg (Marla) Burris of Center Point and Bob Burris of Manchester; a sister, Connie McAnally of Ridgecrest, Calif.

Luyverl Seago

Luyverl Seago, 84, of Vinton, formerly of Dysart, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Overton Funeral Home in Dysart with a visitation for one hour before te service. Burial will be in Dysart Cemetery.  Overton Funeral Home in Dysart is handling the arrangements.

Mle Berniece Muzingo

Mle Berniece Muzingo, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Oak Grove Church, 6101 32nd Ave., Shellsburg, Iowa. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the service at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Virginia Eunice "Jon" (Uthoff) Roths

Virginia Eunice "Jon" (Uthoff) Roths, 85, died Dec. 26, 2020, with family by her side in Atkins, Iowa, at the home of her late spouse, Paul Roths. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
