Richard LeRoy Frame

Richard LeRoy Frame,73, a longtime resident of Norway, IA went to be with his Heavenly Father after a brave battle with cancer on October 1, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by family. Rick, was born July 23, 1948, in Albia, IA to Francis and Delpha (Keys) Frame. After graduating from Norway High School, he was drafted and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Jonathan Michael McElroy

Jonathan Michael McElroy, 37, of Marengo, IA passed away October 2, 2021 from a motor vehicle accident.Jonathan was born April 5, 1984 in Fort Dodge, IA. He was brought home to his parents Glen and Linda (Johnson) McElroy to their farm in rural Marengo. He graduated in 2002 from Belle Plaine High school, where he was active in athletics and 4-H, attending the 4-H state conference for two years.

James (Jim) W. Newton

Memorial Service for James (Jim) W. Newton - Sunday, October 10th at Brandon Community Center, Brandon, Iowa. Everyone is invited to join his family at 1:00 pm for a meal and service at 2:00 pm. James "Jim" W. Newton, Jr., 67, of Indian Springs, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Jim was born in Independence, Iowa the son of James W. and Verda Dolores Masters Newton (Novak).

Jerreldene Simmons

Jerreldene Ann “Jerri” Simmons, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at her home in Van Horne.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 4, 2021, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. David Lingard officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery, Newhall.Jerri was born on November 5, 1938, in Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Jerrel) Niece.

Helen Higgins

Helen B. Higgins, 80, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, September 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.Helen Belle (Waterbury) Higgins was born on Oct 26th, 1940 to Henry and Edna (Grimm) Waterbury. Helen attended Manilla High School, when she graduated with the class of 1958. She was active in basketball and softball, rumor has it she was the “best” guard of her era.

Lois Helena (Junge) Schlotterbeck

Lois Helena (Junge) Schlotterbeck, age 97, passed away on Thursday September 30, 2021, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center with her family at her side.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 3, 2021, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Van Horne with Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating.  Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery.

James Smith

James Smith, 85, of Vinton, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home following a long-term illness. Private family graveside services will be held at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service assisted the family.James was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Hot Springs, Ark., the son of Vernon and Ellen (Prier) Smith. He graduated from high school in Vancouver, Wash.
