Mark Haisch, 55, passed away January 21, 2021 at MercyOne West Des
Moines Medical Center after fighting a long and courageous battle.
Mark
was born on November 22, 1965 to Lloyd and Betty Lou (Ellefson)
Haisch in Vinton, Iowa and was raised in Brandon, Iowa.
He
graduated from Independence High School in 1984. On September 16,
1989 he married his best friend Barb in Independence, Iowa.

Gene Burry, 89, passed away peacefully Monday, January 25, 2021, at Ravenwood Specialty Care Center in Waterloo.Funeral services will be at noon, Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021 at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Garrison Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed at the funeral home by the Iowa Military Funeral Honors Guard.
Nathan Edward Hesson
Nathan Hesson, 37, was called to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, following a long and challenging recovery from his fifth open-heart surgery.A visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton on Wednesday, January 27 from 3-7 pm; honoring Nathan’s wishes, the casket will be closed during public visitation.

Linda Triggiani, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at National Cemetery in Vining, Iowa. All guests are respectfully requested to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Marjorie “Marj” Ann O’Brien, 80, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law after a long battle with COPD.Marjorie was born July 2, 1940, the daughter of Mark and Nina (Haigh) Thurm. She grew up in Manchester and graduated from Manchester High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Jack O’Brien on December 26, 1959.

Annette “Nettie” R. McLennan, 56, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away January 22, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, IA.Annette “Nettie” Rene Van Scoyoc was born January 30, 1964, to Connie C. Rhodes and Darwin M. Van Scoyoc in Marengo, IA.Annette grew up in Belle Plaine enjoying her childhood friends who formed lifelong bonds. Her family lived for a time in the country where she enjoyed riding her horse, Patches.

Mark Fry unexpectedly passed from this present life into the full presence, wonder and glory of Jesus Christ on Jan. 20, 2021. He was 64.Mark left a legacy of love by how he lived his life. He embodied peace and a steady, never-rushed, never-wavering, always-at-ease way of thinking, living and relating. He selflessly exemplified what it means to be fully present in the moment with another person, genuinely seeing someone’s attributes and contributions and then lifting their spirit with a timely word, crafted just for them and inspiring them to courageously move forward.

On the morning of January 16, 2021, Lois Marie Roscoe of Colorado Springs, Colorado was peacefully released to God’s care at the age of 92.Lois was born in Iowa City, Iowa on May 04, 1928 to Margret Umtilla Quackenbush and William Washington Frink. Shortly after birth she was adopted by James Lloyd Zickefoose and Gladys Zickefoose and grew up in Olds, Iowa where the family resided.

Ellen Christine Ericson, 93, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, IA surrounded by family.Ellen was born November 20, 1927 to Ivar and Emelie (Qualey) Ostby in Minnesota. She lived many places through her life, spending many years in Big Falls, MN and St. Cloud, MN. Ellen met Andrew in Nevada while working as a slot manager at the casino.
Francis (Mac) McAtee
Francis (Mac) McAtee, 81, of Brooklyn, Iowa passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family, and his 2 dogs Shilo and Cali.Francis worked over thirty years at Emerson / Fisher Controls and in 1997 he retired. He also served 6 years with the Iowa National Guard and received an Honorable Discharge in 1964.Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Cynthia McAtee, of Brooklyn, IA; daughters Tracy (Donald) Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA and Christine (Michael) Klosterman of Brooklyn, IA; grandchildren Ashley Roudabush of Grinnell, IA, Ryan (Jessie) Roudabush of Farmington, MN, Brittany Klosterman of Marshalltown, IA, Aurelia Roudabush of Brooklyn, IA, and Shane Roudabush of Vinton, IA; great-grandchild Rebecca Turner of Boone, IA; brother Ken (Mary) McAtee of Gilman City, MO; sister-in-law Jenny Mahlow of Ankeny, IA; several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
