Sam Weich, 56, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer. He was born March 31, 1965, in Waterloo the son of Floyd "Buss" and Mary "Dottie" Davis Weich. He was a 1983 graduate of La Porte City High School.Sam married Sharyl Groves on July 12, 1991, in Waterloo.He worked for the City of La Porte City for 40 years, where he most recently served as Public Works Director, retiring in 2020.

Graveside services with full military honors and visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2600 Muscatine Ave., Iowa City, Iowa. Dora Dene Thompson, age 86 of Cedar Rapids died peacefully on Sunday, August 29, 2021 after a brief illness.Dora Dene Thompson was born December 16, 1934 in Webster City, Iowa. She is survived by her four sons and two daughters, Brad (Lanette) Thompson, Ross (Kelli) Thompson, David (Kathy) Thompson, John (Dawn) Thompson, Trisha (Daniel) Ives and Jennifer Thompson, and by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Edwon G. Yedlik, 76, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021, at his home in rural Vinton. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the Vinton Presbyterian Church. Interment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton. Friends may call from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Thursday. In deference to Lucille, the family would appreciate the wearing of masks by un-vaccinated individuals at the visitation and the service.

Anne Elizabeth (Welp) Folkmann, 57, left this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 11, 2021, following an extended illness. A Celebration of Anne's life will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Newhall's Main Park Pavillion from 2-7 p.m. (206 3rd Ave. in Newhall, IA.) Eugene Paul Kriegel, age 66, of Brooklyn, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, Iowa. Eugene is survived by his wife of 45 years, Christina; three children, Amy (Steve) Krakow, Ryan (Cari) Kriegel and Angela (Chad) Grimm; nine grandchildren, Zachary and Benjamin Smith, Lucas (Marissa), Jacob, Katie and Blake Krakow, Jayden and Jaxson Grimm and Mishayla Kleinmeyer; one great-granddaughter Ava Kleinmeyer; five siblings, Phyllis (Myron) McGowan, of Vinton, Susan (John) Everett, of Atkins, Phillip (Teresa) Kriegel, of Brooklyn, Joseph (Kim) Kriegel, of Brooklyn, and Diana (Ken) Swartz, of Puntagorda, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Benton Community School in 1975. She was united in marriage to Dave Wilson in Cedar Rapids on June 9, 1979.
