Martha Frances Lundberg, 94, of Vinton, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2020, at her home in Vinton. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth St., in Vinton. With pandemic precautions, social distancing and masks will be required. Private graveside services will be at International Cemetery, rural Luzerne, led by Rev.

Caryl (Fant) Hagen

Caryl (Fant) Hagen, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 27, 2020 at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall with Rev. Steven Rempfer officiating.  Interment will be held at St. John Cemetery, Newhall.  Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Wednesday at the church in Newhall.

EDNA ELLEN OLMSTED HEITMANN

EDNA ELLEN OLMSTED HEITMANN Keystone Edna Ellen Olmsted Heitmann died June 12, 2020, at the Keystone Care Center in Keystone. A private family graveside service will  be held at the Keystone Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at 201 2nd Ave., in Keystone. The family encourages guests to wear masks and practice social distancing at the gathering.

Glenn George Krug

Glenn George Krug, long time Vinton resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at the Vinton Lutheran Home at the fully lived age of 93.Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home chapel (212 E. 6thStreet) in Vinton.  The wearing of masks is suggested.  Family graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery in Vinton  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Vinton Lutheran Home for the purchase of media equipment for residents to video chat with their families, or the Vinton Christian Church in Glenn’s name.

Updated: Daniel Lee Wiley, 55, of Center Point, formerly of Brandon and Vinton areas, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, in Las Vegas. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Brandon Community Center, 804 Main St., Brandon, Iowa. The family encourages guests to wear masks and practice social distancing at the gathering.

Donna Guerrero, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Heritage Specialty Care, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 2-4 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020, followed by a Funeral Service at 4 p.m. Due to the Derecho storm damage, services will take place at Van Steenhuyse Russell Funeral Home, Vinton. Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Marion, is caring for Donna and her family.

Tom (Van Steenhuyse) Stonehouse

Tom (Van Steenhuyse) Stonehouse, 70, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home in Palm Springs, CA, following a short and courageous battle with leukemia.Private family services will be held to honor and celebrate Tom’s life.Thomas Raphael Van Steenhuyse was born June 11, 1950 in Vinton, the son of Ray and Helen (Walsh) Van Steenhuyse. Tom graduated with the Vinton class of 1968, the University of Iowa and Drake University where he earned a law degree.

Maude Marie Hilleshiem

Maude Marie Hilleshiem, 89, passed away peacefully at her home of natural causes Wednesday, August 19, 2020.Private graveside services at Evergreen Cemetery will be held at a later date.Maude was born December 27, 1930 in Vinton, the daughter of Oscar and Hester Stone Anderson.  She grew up and attended school in Vinton, graduating with the class of 1950.

Mary Janette Wilson

Mary Janette Wilson, 93, died Friday, August 14, 2020 at St. Luke's Unity Point Hospital following a sudden illness.     Private Family Graveside Services will be held at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Atkins     Mary was born June 13, 1927 at High View Farm near Atkins to Walter and Enid (Bryner) Krug and graduated from the Atkins High School in 1944.

George Elvan Little

George Elvan Little, 94, died peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2020, in Sherman, TX. George was born August 26, 1925, in Madison, WI to Ralph C. and Ruth (Moubry) Little. He was the third of eight children. In 1927, the family moved back to Palo, IA. He was a long-time resident of Atkins, Newhall, and Cedar Rapids. On December 12, 1945, George married LaVonne Lint.
