Marian Frances (Braksiek) Franck, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center, where she was cared for like family with such love, these past 4 years.Private Family Funeral Services will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Newhall, with Rev. Judith Ann Garbers, 79, passed away at Mercy Hospital surrounded by nurses and doctors who cared for on October 22, 2020, after a brief illness. A private memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne on Wednesday, October 28 with Father Craig Steimel officiating. Visitation will take place at Phillips Funeral Home in Vinton from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 27. Gene La Rue Healy
Gene La Rue Healy passed away suddenly Oct. 18, 2020. He was born March 23, 1945 to Glenn and Dorothy (Evans) Healy. He was the youngest of five siblings. He was born and raised in Vinton, Iowa where he graduated from high school in 1963. He earned his BA in teaching from the University of Northern Iowa in 1968 and attended the University of Northern Colorado where he completed his MA with dual degrees in the area of the Visually Impaired and Mobility and Orientation. Dora Mae Vogt, 90, died Saturday, October 17, 2020, at St. Luke’s Inpatient Hospice in Cedar Rapids.Private family graveside services will be held at the Urbana Cemetery.Dora was born December 29, 1929, to Lloyd and Mathilda (Donley) Downing in rural Center Point.
