Joel Cronbaugh

Joel Cronbaugh, whose brother David referred to him as the purest, most innocent soul he ever knew, transitioned to his Heavenley home peacefully on May 5, 2020. A person of few words but many, many stories, Joel was a man of action who distinguished himself in many ways during his long, fore-filled life. Mostly we will all remember him for his selfless kindness, goofy sense of humor and many years of taking his fellow truck driver friends, his family of nieces and nephews and all his devoted friends to The Brick Haus in Amana for weekly and often twice a week "Cowboy" lunches.

Suzanne Snyder

Suzanne Snyder, a resident of Orchard Ridge Retirement Community of Winchester, Va., and a former resident of Belle Plaine, Iowa, died of natural causes on April 26, 2020.Born Aug. 18, 1936, the daughter of Mildred Johnson Snyder and Wallace F. Snyder, she graduated from Belle Plaine High School and received B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Iowa.

Lloyd Curtis Mann

Lloyd Curtis Mann, 85, of Newhall, formerly of Martensdale, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Private family services will be held with interment at the New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, IA.  A public memorial service will be held at a date to be announced in Martensdale.  Memorials may be directed to the Keystone Nursing Care Center.

Anthony Wayne “Tony” Mealhouse

Anthony Wayne “Tony” Mealhouse, age 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2020 at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart.Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Garrison Cemetery.Anthony, known as Tony to family and friends, was born on June 18, 1954 in Vinton, the son of Harold and Jeanne (Criswell) Mealhouse.

Sharon Kay (Harrelson) Valentine

Richard Lee Lindsey

Richard Lee Lindsey, 83, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2020 of natural causes.  A celebration of Richard’s life with military rites will be held at a later date. Richard was born July 2, 1936, the son of Carl and Lucille Blanchard Lindsey. He grew up and attended school in Vinton.  Richard served his country in the United States Marines from 1954 to 1956.

Janice Carpa

Janice Carpa, 76, of Bettendorf, Iowa, went to be with the Lord and Savior. She passed away on April 30, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A private funeral service will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, and burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or the Parkinson's Foundation.

Shirley A. Brosh

Shirley A. Brosh, 90, of Solon, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at Keystone Place at Forevergreen following a brief illness. Celebration of Life services will be livestreamed beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, on Brosh Chapel's Facebook page. Friends and family are encouraged to view and leave a condolence during this time.

Patricia A. Fowlkes

Patricia A. Fowlkes, 84 years old, of rural Independence, Iowa, died on Saturday, April 25, 2020, in Urbana, Iowa, at the home of her daughter.  She was born on February 8, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Philip Barron and Marjorie Adelaide (Meggison) Bisdorf.  She graduated from East High School in Waterloo.   On January 28, 1956, she and James Oscar Fowlkes were married in Waterloo.

Robert "Bob" A. Radeke

Robert "Bob" A. Radeke, 69, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, was called home by God on Monday, April 27, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.Bob was born Sept. 9, 1950, to George and Doris (Noska) Radeke in Belle Plaine. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1968. On July 27, 1968, Bob married Donna Upah. The couple moved to Luzerne, where Bob farmed and worked for Morton Buildings.
