Sharon K. Nemecek, 75, of Shellsburg, Iowa, died Thursday, June 18, 2020. A visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place at McBroom Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Charles E. “Chuck” Peterson, 72, died Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester after a courageous battle with leukemia.Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Vinton with Father Jim Brokman as Celebrant. Edna Ellen Olmsted Heitmann was born August 3, 1921 in the farm home of her grandparents, George and Anna Wickersheim Koether in the little community of Giard in northeast Iowa. She was the daughter of David Neill and Charlotte (Koether) Olmsted. She was raised in the home of her parents in Giard. She went to school in Giard #6 through eighth grade. Gloria Jean Pugh
Gloria Jean Pugh, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at her home in Newhall surrounded by her family. A small private service will be held Thursday June 18th, 2020 with family and close friends. Gloria was born on June 11, 1946, in Ft. Dodge, IA, the daughter of Bernard and Florence (Leiss) Espinoza. Kenny R. Lawrence, 89, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA.Kenny was born January 11, 1931 to Monroe and Bertha in Belle Plaine, IA.Following school, Kenny entered the U.S. Navy. Upon returning he worked as a meter reader for utility companies around the Belle Plaine area.He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Harrison and Gina Lawrence-Sokol; sister, Betty Lawrence. Thomas Joseph (TJ) Neuhaus, 66, of Walford, IA passed away following his battle with cancer at his home, Monday, June 8, 2020 surrounded by family.Tom was born on June 29, 1953 to Gilbert and Virginia (Flynn) Neuhaus in Dubuque, IA. He moved with his family to Cedar Rapids at a young age where he graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School in 1971. Ronald Lund
Ronald Lund of Corpus Christi, Texas, and formerly of Urbana, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on June 8, 2020. Born in Hampton, Iowa, Ron was a 1967 graduate of Urbana Community High School. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force, including two tours of duty in Vietnam where he was exposed to Agent Orange. After leaving the Air Force, Ron worked as an air traffic controller, cabinetmaker and salesman, and operated his own business for more than 20 years.

Jeffrey “Jeff” Lown, 61, of Chino Valley, Arizona, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Friday, June 5, 2020. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at North English Cemetery in North English, Iowa. Mike Furlong died peacefully on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at his son's home in Iowa City, Iowa, at the age of 71 years old.A visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Ardon Creek Vineyard & Winery, with a service following at 3 p.m. at the winery.
