Mackenzie Marie Kvam, 16, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away suddenly September 16, 2020 from a vehicle accident in Keystone, IA.Mackenzie was born October 20, 2003 to Shelley Kostohryz and Andrew Kvam in Winona, MN. At the age of three Mackenzie moved with her mom and step dad David to Belle Plaine, where she became a part of the Benton Community. As a junior at Benton Community High School she played the alto saxophone in the marching band.

Visitation and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020, at First Christian Church in Vinton with Ryan Koehn officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to 2 p.m., Celebration of Life at 2 p.

Cecil Edward Roberts, 94, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away September 15, 2020 at Compass Memorial Healthcare, Marengo, IA.Cecil was born January 10, 1926, to John and Pearl (Aikens) Roberts in Williamsburg, IA. He graduated from St. John’s Catholic High School in 1944. Following school, Cecil was drafted into the U.S. Navy during WWII. Upon returning home in 1946 he worked many odd jobs until starting his own Amoco Oil business in 1957, delivering fuel.

Marjorie "Marge" F. Oleson, 91, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Springville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at Ramsey Village in Des Moines. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa. A service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Sue Ellen Sherman.

Jay Michael Rector, 61, died unexpectedly on September 7th, 2020, at his home. He was born in Vinton, Iowa on January 21st, 1959 to Harold and Drusilla Rector. Jay graduated from Iowa State University in 1981 with a degree in Industrial Administration; while there, he met the love of his life, Deborah Morman. In 1981, Jay and Deborah got married and shortly after, moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Jay took a job with Phillips Petroleum for five years.
