Robert “Bob” Struck

Robert “Bob” Struck, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.Robert was born on September 9, 1935 in rural Keystone, the son of Elmer and Mabel (Sindt) Struck.  He graduated from Keystone High School.  Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Guam.

Andrew Wayne Sellers

Andrew Wayne Sellers of Lake Wales, Florida (formerly of Vinton, IA) was born December 16, 1965. He died from a sudden illness on April 9, 2020He is survived by a son AJ of Jesup, IA, son Thomas of Plymouth, MN: son Evan of Janesville, IA; son Steven and daughter Aleah of Henderson, MN, aunts Wendy Pennington of Vinton, IA; Shelby Roth of Marion, IA; and uncle, Tracy Sellers of Vinton, IA, sister, Dawn Lefever of Travelers Rest, SC, step-brother Steven Kersey of Culver, IN, and step-sister Amy Jo Cole of Mishawaka, IN; and special friend Chelle Winczewski‎ of Roseville, MN.

Ronald Dean Williams

Ronald Dean Williams, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Sunnycrest Nursing Center in Dysart.Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus of Cedar Falls / Waterloo.Ronald was born was born on May 31, 1945 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, the son of Carl and Mildred (Carter) Williams.

Susan Jean (Slager) Meek

Susan Jean (Slager) Meek, age 68, passed away peacefully on Friday May 15, 2020 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton. (Following social distancing guidelines)  Interment will be held at Bear Creek Cemetery rural Vinton.

Lei Loni Albert

Lei Loni Albert, 78, of Oelwein, formerly of Vinton, passed away early Sunday May 17, 2020 at MercyOne in Waterloo after a sudden illness.A family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton later in the summer.Lei Loni Downs was born December 6, 1941 in Vinton, the daughter of Harley “Bud” and Velma Williams Downs. She grew up in Vinton and graduated from Vinton High School.

Carol Ann Berger

Carol Ann Berger, passed away on Wednesday, May 6th, 2020 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a long illness. Carol was born on May 12, 1952 in Vinton to Richard and Helen (Gulick) Collins. She was married to David Berger on November 17, 1975.She proudly worked for Rockwell/Collins for over 20 years. Carol was blessed to find joy and happiness throughout her life.

Don G. Reifenstahl

Don G. Reifenstahl, 88, passed away peacefully May 13, 2020, at the Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab Center in Vinton, Iowa.Don was born July 19, 1931, and lived in Vinton his entire life. He was the son of Glenn and Nina (Harrison) Reifenstahl. He is survived by his daughters Becky of Bakersfield, Ca., Donna of Cedar Rapids, sons Bub, Rex, and Dan all of Vinton, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his brother Jerry and wife Sue of Cedar Rapids.

Darlene Ann (Dickman) Suchomel

Darlene Ann (Dickman) Suchomel, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at her rural Urbana home, surrounded by her family.Darlene was born on August 27, 1931, in Clarksville, the daughter of Benjamin and Gertrude (Pribbenow) Dickman.  She graduated from Marble Rock High School with the class of 1949, attended Wartburg College and Iowa State Teachers College, where she earned her teaching certificate.

Cathy Van Nevel

Cathy Van Nevel, 63, of Belle Plaine, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Keystone Care Center, following a long illness.Cathy was born Feb. 4, 1957, to Tom and Donna (Looney) Kelley in Burlington, Iowa. She graduated from Marion High School in 1976. She married Bill Van Nevel Nov. 18, 1988. Cathy and Bill loved to travel, especially going on cruises.
