Dean Allan Lewis, 86, of Salem, Virginia, passed from this earth on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at his home in Salem, Virginia.He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Maggie” Lewis, of the home; sons, Craig “Allan” and Brinda Lewis of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Derek and Carol Lewis of Placentia, California; sisters, Jane and George Abbas of Aplington, Iowa, and Nancy and Chuck Helle of Vinton, Iowa; brother, Tom Lewis of Watertown, Massachu[st]ts; grandchildren, Amber, Sean, Diana, Chase, Braden, Cassandra, Chelsea and Chad; great-grandchildren, Kashton, Mary, Kole, Kaytlin, Xander, Keira, Kailee, Ayden, Kaylee, Nicole and Troy; along with five stepchildren; step-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends who love him dearly.

JANET CHARLENE (HAMMOND) WALTERS

Janet Charlene (Hammond) Walters, 81, passed away April 7, 2020, of natural causes. Private family interment will be held at a later date.Janet was a 30-plus-year resident of Shellsburg, Iowa, but most recently lived at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon.Janet is survived by her daughter, Kathryne (Edward) Walls Snyder of Maryland; and her son, Mark (Kimberley) Walls of Illinois.

Clare Alfred Moelk

Clare Alfred Moelk was born April 6, 1934 in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Alfred and Cora (Storby) Moelk. He is a 1952 graduate Vinton High School, Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) with a Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude), George Washington University (Master of Government) and the Federal Executive Institute.He attended Drake University Law School and studied Japanese language at Georgetown University and The Tokyo School of Japanese Language.

Eva Miller

Eva Miller, age 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2020.Private family services will be held, with burial at Parkers Grove Cemetery, rural Shellsburg.Eva was born on December 4, 1919, the daughter of William and Maria (Malzahan) Buls in rural Bremer County Iowa. She graduated from Frederika High School in 1938.In 1939, she was united in marriage to Keith Scott, who preceded her in death in 1954.

Henry L. Zuck

Henry L. Zuck, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, April 6, 2020, surrounded by his children.The patriarch of the Zuck family entered the gates of Heaven early Monday morning. He was Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. Rest in peace, Henry - we love you!Private family graveside services will be held at Homer Big Grove Cemetery.Henry was born January 24, 1933, on the family farm northwest of Garrison, IA, the son of John and Katherine Banse Suck.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Lynn (Morrow) Beck

Jacqueline “Jackie” Lynn (Morrow) Beck, 56, of Belle Plaine, IA, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at her home.Jackie was born February 8, 1964 to Donald and Linda (Hines) Morrow in Clinton, IA. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. Following school, Jackie worked odd jobs while raising her children, as they grew, she began her career with hair styling.

Sharon K. (Haley) Swehla

Sharon K. (Haley) Swehla, age 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.Due to Covid-19 restrictions, memorial services will be held at a later date, with burial at Mound Cemetery in Watkins.Sharon was born on June 9, 1947, the daughter of Frederick and Shirley (Slick) Haley. She graduated from Central City High School.

Lee E. Bossom

Lee E. Bossom, 83, of Blairstown, Iowa, formerly of Quasqueton, Iowa, died of the coronavirus on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Lee was born April 20, 1936, on the family farm in rural Plainfield, Iowa. The son of Howard E. and Margaret F. (Bryhl) Bossom, he was a graduate of Plainfield High School. He attended courses at Wartburg College and the University of Wisconsin School of Banking.

Glen Oren Thompson

Glen Oren Thompson, 97, of Fort Dodge passed away on Wed­nes­day, April 1, 2020 at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge. A Cele­bra­tion Of Life for Mar­jory, who passed away November 26, 2019, and Glen will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.Glen Thompson, the son of Oren C. and Mae (Rieke) Thompson, was born on August 18, 1922, near Vinton, IA.

Helen Anderson

Helen Anderson, 93, went peacefully to be with her heavenly Father Saturday evening, March 28, 2020. She has been residing at Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services will held at a later date at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vinton. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton.Helen was born January 28, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the only child of Edwin and Aurita Rosain.
