Shellie "Lo Lo" Laree Moore

Shellie "Lo Lo" Laree Moore, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Shellie had a two-year courageous battle with colon cancer. She was grateful for the time she had and made the most out of every moment. She relied on her faith, received spiritual guidance and counseling from Pastor Andrew Happ of Center Point United Methodist Church.

James D. “Jim” Shaffer

James D. “Jim” Shaffer, 81, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Unity Point St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids following a sudden illnessFuneral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev. Douglas Woltemath officiating.  Masks should be worn, and social distancing will be practiced at the church.

Mark Timmer

Mark Timmer, 79, died peacefully Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Vinton Lutheran Home. Visitation and funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Vinton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with military rites.

Constance (Connie) Jean David

Constance (Connie) Jean David, 68, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on August 26, 2020 after a short illness. Following cremation, she will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton, IA. A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements. Connie was born on April 21, 1952 to Daniel J.

Brennen Steven Still

Brennen Steven Still, 13, died Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City following a courageous battle with a rare brain cancer.Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2020, at First Christian Church, Vinton.  Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 to 5:00 p.

Marlys E. Higdon

Marlys E. Higdon, 89, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 29, 2020, at the La Porte City Specialty Care, following a short illness.Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p. m., Saturday, October 3, 2020 at the First Christian Church, Vinton with private graveside services following.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

Mackenzie Marie Kvam

Mackenzie Marie Kvam, 16, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away suddenly September 16, 2020 from a vehicle accident in Keystone, IA.Mackenzie was born October 20, 2003 to Shelley Kostohryzand Andrew Kvam in Winona, MN. At the age of three Mackenzie moved with her mom and step dad David to Belle Plaine, where she became a part of the Benton Community.

George M. Lucas

George M. Lucas, 55, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at his home.There will be no services at this time. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to his family, in care of Shelly Lucas. George was born on July 18, 1965, in Muscatine, the son of Walter and Patricia Ann Tompkins Lucas.

Decie Rose Mason

Decie Rose Mason, 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 27. 2020 after living a full and busy life.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th) in Vinton with Rev. Brian Reeves officiating.  Interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Shellsburg.

Mahaila Margaret Clark Cruzen

Mahaila Margaret Clark Cruzen, 13, of Keystone, IA, passed away suddenly September 13, 2020 from an ATV accident in Keystone, IA.Mahaila was born February, 7, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN to Michelle Cruzen and Cory Clark. She attended Long Prairie Elementary in Long Prairie, MN where she played soccer and was in Girl Scouts. Mahaila moved with her family to Keystone about 4 years ago, becoming a Benton Bobcat and was attending Benton Community School as an 8th grader this year.
