ROBERT "BOB" J. GOODIN

Robins Robert "Bob" J. Goodin, 83, of Robins, Iowa, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2020. He was born on May 25, 1937, in Columbus, Iowa, to parents Warren and Madonna (Penneton) Goodin. Bob was a self-made man in every sense. At the age of 15, following the death of his father, Bob worked to support his mother and nine siblings and their family farm in Elkader, Iowa.

Judy Matters Elwick

Judy Matters Elwick, 79, died peacefully at the Vinton Lutheran Home Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton with Rev. Stephen Preus officiating.  Visitation will also be at Trinity Lutheran Church from 4 to 6 pm Monday, November 16.

Lucille A. (Tracy) Spurgeon

Lucille A. (Tracy) Spurgeon, age 101, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Unity Point, St. Luke’s Hospice in Cedar Rapids.  Lucille, known as Tracy, was born on July 2, 1919 in Sioux City, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Wilson) Tracy.  She graduated from Spencer High School with the class of 1937.  On November 29, 1944, she was united in marriage to Henry Spurgeon in Des Moines.

Robert “Bob” “Grizzly” Dewayne Majavec

Robert “Bob” “Grizzly” Dewayne Majavec, 71, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away suddenly at his home, Monday, November 9, 2020.Robert was born January 24, 1949 the son of George and Ethel (Jordan) Ulicney in Oskaloosa, IA. He graduated from Deep River Millersburg High School the class of 1967. Following High School, he joined the United States Air Force.

Helen I. (Eggleston) Berry

Helen I. (Eggleston) Berry, 97 of Vinton, died peacefully on November 7, 2020 at the Vinton Lutheran Home.  Memorial services will be held at a later date with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton.Helen was born in Vinton on September 6, 1923 to Lewis E. Eggleston and Jesse K. (Watts) Eggleston.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in Vinton in 1941.

Ruth B. Lamb, 93, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020. A public visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required.

Charline Lorraine (Sear) McDermott

Charline Lorraine (Sear) McDermott, age 86, of Toddville, Iowa, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 31, 2020, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa, after a 14- year progression of Alzheimer’s, and lastly, COVID-19 complications, with her family near her. Private funeral Mass: St. Elizabeth Ann [ST]on Catholic Church, Hiawatha, Iowa.

Lisa Ellen (Garbers) Upah

Lisa Ellen (Garbers) Upah, age 56, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 2, 2020, at her home in Keystone, from natural causes related to unknowingly contracting COVID19.   A private memorial mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Van Horne with Father Craig Steimel officiating. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
