Robert Eugene Hale

Robert Eugene Hale, 73, of Fredericktown, died Monday, April 26, 2021 at ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown. He was born on December 13, 1939 in Bell Plain, Iowa.In 1976, Mr. Hale married Dona Marye Neve in Vinton, Iowa. She preceded him in death May 19, 2014.Mr. Hale is survived by his children Ronnie (Karen) Hale, of St. Mary's, Missouri, Bill Hale of Cherokee Pass, Missouri and Patricia Jo Harris of Fredericktown; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Lorna Anna Johanna (Lorenz) Rieck, 93, of Luzerne passed away peacefully at the Vinton Lutheran Home on February 17, 2021 after a brief illness.A celebration of Lorna’s life will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Blairstown Community Center in Blairstown.Lorna was born May 10, 1927 in Williamsburg, Iowa to Arnold & Emma (Huedepohl) Lorenz.

She was born April 16, 1944, in Vinton, Iowa. Mary was the third child out of four and leaves behind her only living sister Linda Sutherland (We all love you Aunt Linda). She left behind her spouse Dennis Thorn and their four children Rebecca, Debbie, Jeff, and Connie.

Wood, 72, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at UIHC, Iowa City, Iowa.Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Palo United Methodist Church with Rev. John Howerton and Pastor Steve Pudinski officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time at the church on Saturday.

William Richard Huggins

William Richard Huggins, 85, of Atkins, Iowa, passed away on April 26, 2021, at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.Bill led an incredibly full life. A loving husband, wise father, loyal brother, and proud grandfather, Bill was a wonderful storyteller. Whether it was sitting among family and friends or fishing with anyone willing to join along, his keen mind and quick wit entertained multiple generations.

Lawrence "Larry" McDonald

Lawrence "Larry" McDonald passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, at the age of 87.He is survived by three children, Kevin of Burns, Wyoming, Shawn of Cedar Rapids and Michelle (Shelly) and husband Donald Tuttle of Urbana/Center Point; five grandchildren, Beth, Joshua, Dustin, Nicole and Daren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (Elliott) Driscoll of Williamsburg and Margaret Yates of Sigourney; and a sister-in-law, Pauline McDonald of Cedar Rapids.

(Sherman) Boyles, age 78, died at her Urbana home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 26, 2021..Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Private interment will be held at Urbana Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will follow the funeral service from 3:30 until 6:30 PM on Thursday.
