Brent Lee Willcoxson

Brent Lee Willcoxson, 61, of Urbana, Iowa, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. Per Brent's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date. Private inurnment will take place in Bloomfield Cemetery, Bloomfield, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family.

Tom J. Sima Jr.

Tom J. Sima Jr., 67, passed away January 16, 2021.Born Sept. 9, 1953, in Center Point, Iowa, as one of four boys, he graduated from Vinton High School. After working for Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids following high school, he continued his career in South Florida, later returning to Marengo to run one of the two family Goodyear Tire stores. In later years, Tom joined other family members in the Indianapolis area, where he was living at his time of death.

Kathy Marie Woodman

Kathy Marie Woodman, 71, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away April 22, 2021 at her home, surrounded by family. Kathy was born June 17, 1949 to Pat Henle and Mabel Coleman in Marshalltown, IA. She grew up in Marshalltown, IA. She grew up in Chelsea, IA, attending St. Joseph’s Catholic School. Kathy worked as a seamstress, secretary and office manager.

Steven Raymond Cantonwine

Steven Raymond Cantonwine, age 64, passed away on December 26, 2020 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born in Vinton, Iowa on January 30, 1956 to Phianna and Raymond Cantonwine. Steve lived in Vinton until 1970 and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1974. Steve was active in football and basketball while in high school. Steve received a Master of Science in Business degree at the University of Iowa and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate at the University of Missouri School of Law in Kansas City, Missouri.

Robert Lee Swehla

Robert Lee Swehla, age 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha with his family by his side.Graveside services will be held for Robert and his wife Sharon at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Mound Cemetery in Watkins.Robert was born on December 18, 1947, in Fayette, IA. the son of Robert Frank and Emma (Pavlovec) Swehla.

Junior Lavern Pritchett

Junior Lavern Pritchett, 86, formerly of Missouri and Vinton, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, Missouri.Junior was born on August 16, 1934 in Cooter, MO., the son of Oscar and Pauline (Grammar) Pritchett.  He had worked for D.C. Taylor and at the Iowa Ham Plant in Vinton prior to his retirement.

Laverne "Vern" Jackson

Laverne "Vern" Jackson, 87, of Marion, passed away on April 13, 2021, at St. Luke's UnityPoint Hospice in Cedar Rapids. A public visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. April 16 at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Aprivate family service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with burial following at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Betty Jean Kies

Betty Jean Kies, 71, of Vinton, died Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at her home from a sudden illness. Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Blessed Hope Church, 1509 South M Ave., Vinton, by the Pastor Matt Hantz. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Vinton Legion Hall. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.

Frances Marie Uthoff

Frances Marie Uthoff, 91, of Walford, IA passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 peacefully at her home.Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 19, 2021 at Lenox Cemetery, Amana, IA. Dorothy (Flant) Plagmann

Dorothy (Flant) Plagmann, 98, of Norway, Iowa, passed away April 10, 2021, at West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.Dorothy was born Aug. 26, 1922, on a farm near Williamsburg, Iowa. She attended Pilot Grove rural school and later completed high school at Kirkwood Community College and received her B.A. degree from Coe College in 2003 at age 80, where she was a member of Mortar Board and the National Honor Society.
