Douglas Stephen Stulken, 51, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center.Private Family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic church in Cedar Rapids, with Rev. Mark Murphy as Celebrant.  Interment will be held at Cedar Memorial Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials or condolences may be mailed to Karen Stulken, P.

BENTLEY GENE TARVIN

Bentley Gene Tarvin entered this world silently on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020, the son of Ben and Jena (Erger) Tarvin. His big sister, Raylee, lovingly called him "Strawberry," and was very certain that he should be called Baby Strawberry. Bentley gained his heavenly wings to watch over his parents, Ben and Jena Tarvin, and his big sister, Raylee; his maternal grandparents, Shawn and Jodi (Fisher) Erger; his paternal grandparents, Jeannie Tarvin and David (Brenda) Tarvin; his aunts, uncles and cousins, Paige (Tim) Plummer and Eddy and Cora, Mike (Melinda) Tarvin, Brianna and Gabriel, Kathy (Eric Buneta) Tarvin and Octavia; and great-grandparents, Mary Jane Fisher, Pat Erger and Curtis (Imogene) Machen.

Ellen Stiegelmeyer

Ellen Stiegelmeyer, 88, formerly of Vinton Iowa and Cedar Rapids Iowa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday December 10, 2020, after losing her battle with Covid-19.Ellen was born in Marengo, Iowa on August 31, 1932 to Bruce and Alice (Schumacher) Hedges. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1950, then graduated from Iowa State Teacher’s College in 1952.

Keith E. Slusher

Keith E. Slusher, 61, formerly of Marco Island, FL, died Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids following a brief illness.    Keith was born July 9, 1959 at Kokomo, Indiana to Harold and Emilie (Zell) Slusher.  He lived most of his life in Marco Island, FL., where he owned and operated his carpet cleaning business, “Sparkle Cleaning”.

Arlene Mable (Salger) Kruger

Arlene Mable (Salger) Kruger, age 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 11, 2020 at home with her daughter and son-in-law, John and LaDonna Messer in rural Dysart.Private family funeral services will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Garrison with Rev. Dr. Dean Rothchild officiating.  Interment will be held at the Garrison Cemetery.

JoAnn “Dolly” Roster

JoAnn “Dolly” Roster, age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at her home in Vinton.     Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 10:45 AM, Monday, December14, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home Chapel (212 E. 6th Street) in Vinton.  Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery following the visitation.

Hazel Arlene (Peterson) Junge

Hazel Arlene (Peterson) Junge, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Phillips Funeral Home with Chaplain Paul Rathke officiating.  Visitation will be held from noon until 1:45 PM, Monday at funeral home.

David Michael Waterman

David Michael Waterman finished the race of life and went to his eternal home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after an 8 ½ year battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia. Throughout it all, David remained uncomplaining and accepting. A celebration of life will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, December 12, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Atkins with Rev.

Jeffery B. Butler, Sr.

     Jeffery B. Butler, Sr., 65, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his residence.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.     Jeff was born on August 20, 1955 to Belvie and Billy Sue (Bray) Butler at Kennett, MO.  After his father died when he was very young, Jeff was raised by his step-father, Elder “Junior” Sewell.
