Duane Leo Clark, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha, following a lengthy illness. Per Duane’s wishes, there will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Mary K. Brandt, 99, of Atkins, IA, formerly of Waukon, IA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at home in Atkins. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 2nd, at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon with Fr. John Moser officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Waukon. Reta Joy (Seeley) Root, 81, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 14, 2024.Reta was born in Rockford, Illinois on March 20, 1943 to Maxine Sherck & Albert Seeley of Centerville, Iowa. Reta’s family lived in Galesburg, IL and settled in Centerville, IA where she graduated from Centerville High School. Following high school, Reta went to Cedar Rapids and worked at Mercy Hospital as a nursing assistant. Richard W. Henry

Lawrence Noe 85, of Independence, IA, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Lexington Estates in Independence, IA. Lawrence was born on November 20, 1938, the son of Elbertus and Manta “Cathryne” (Blough) Noe. Lawrence grew up helping out on the family farm between La Porte City and Brandon. Kevin Kem Sturtz, 70, of Belle Plaine, IA passed away July 15, 2024 at his home. Kevin was born October 3, 1953 to Melvin and Emma (Trunk) Sturtz. Raised on a farm near Dysart, IA Kevin graduated from Dysart-Geneseo, class of 1972. Farming alongside is father, working for many local farmers and being involved in the FFA, Kevin developed a love for farming at young age. Rod Osborne O’Brien
Rod Osborne O’Brien, 52, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2024, in Van Horne, IA. The youngest of three siblings, he was born on March 1, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Daniel and Mary O’Brien. He proudly graduated in 1990 from Benton Community High School and in 1994 from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, with a Professional Golf Management degree.
