Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest February 4 for ages 9-14
Sunday, February 4, boys and girls aged 9-14 (as of January 1) are invited to participate in the Knights of Columbus Free Throw Contest. The contest will be held at the Tilford Middle School Gym at 3:00 p.m.Each age category’s winner will be awarded a trophy and gain the chance to advance to the district-level competition. We encourage all eligible young athletes to join us for this exciting event! (Please note: : Entrants may compete in only one local competition.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association’s Board of Control held its regular meeting on Thursday, January 25, reviewing winter reports and approving several recommendations in track & field, football, and soccer.Past editions of Board Briefs are available through News page and via the “Board Briefs” tag. Stormin' Vikings hosts Senior Night
Despite the cold and the snow, the Stormin’ Vikings were able to host senior night Thursday at the Braille School “bathtub”. It was a great night as the home team captured all eleven events in a 64-31 win over a Williamsburg team depleted by the bad weather. We were very grateful that they made the trip so that the team could honor our seniors.

Storming Vikings Cap Busy Week with a Solid Performance at Decorah
Results from Friday night at Decorah. The Stormin’ Vikings made the long bus ride to Decorah Friday night and made it worth the trip. Despite being in the midst of a grueling stretch, and with only eight swimmers available, they still managed a second place finish behind a very strong Decorah team and ahead of Grinnell, Waterloo and Mason City.
Stormin’ Vikes Split with State Power Linn-Mar and Waterloo
The Vinton Shellsburg - CPU "Stormin" Vikings opened their season last night with a strong performance showing some great potential for yet another solid year. Top 5 team in the state Linn-Mar showed up with all 48 swimmers and dominated the meet as expected. But the VS/CPU squad had some strong swims and managed a 93-67 victory over the Waterloo consolidated team.
