VPRD arranging charter bus for State Basketball
The Vinton-Shellsburg boy's basketball team is headed to the State Tournament in Des Moines and we are offering a way to get you there as well!
The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is now accepting signups for a seat on a chartered bus headed to Des Moines to watch the boys play on Tuesday, March 5th.
The cost of this trip is only $18 per person and includes transportation, parking, ticket to the game and a brown-sack supper for the ride home.
VS planning early out, pep buses for State game March 5
The Vinton-Shellsburg boys’ basketball team will play in the state tournament starting on Tuesday, March 5 at 3:45.
The school district will have a three hour early out on Tuesday so students and families can attend the game.
We are working on providing pep busses for our middle school and high school students for $13/seat which includes a ticket to the game and the bus.

One of the best defenses in Class 3A is preparing to face the highest-scoring offense in tonight’s Sub-State 3 match-up.
While the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings are leading Class 3A in points scored (1,608), the Crestwood Cadets are among the best defenses in the state.
The Vikings average 69.9 points per game; the Crestwood defense has held its opponents to an average of 47.
