Another great night - always fun to swim at home! VSU won all but 1 event and handily won the team competition. The girls all had good times - at or below personal bests.

Union Loses on road vs. #1 1A ranked Dike-New Hartford 35-22.

The score was 28-22 with 3;05 left in the fourth as Union's Britton Rolison had a 59-yard fumble return for TD and the two-point conversion failed. Union attempted an onside kick which was short as Dike-NH was awarded good field position.

The Vinton-Shellsburg Viking/Vikette Hall of Fame (which also includes athletes from Garrison and Shellsburg before those schools merged with Vinton) will honor more members on Friday, continuing a long-standing homecoming tradition.

While to Union football fans, it appeared that missed calls by referees resulted in touchdowns that would have given Union a win at Charles City, coach Joe Hadachek says he and his team are the ones who need to own the 21-20 loss at home on Friday.
