While both Union and Decorah defeated Vinton Shellsburg, Luke Radeke and Scott Betterton both win their matches in Union and Decorah, while Mike Betterton joined them in winning in his match against Decorah.

Shephard leads VSU swimmers at State

Members of the VSU Girls Swim Team competed at State this past weekend in Marshalltown. Arabella Shepard, Geordyn Webster, Clarissa Carolan & Lexi Goodell swam in the 200 Medley Relay event, finishing in 29th place.

VSU will be sending 4 swimmers to State in the 100 Fly, 100 Back and 200 Medley

Big day for VSU girls! Arabella Shepard qualified in 2 individual events (100 butterfly and 100 backstroke) and our 200 Medley Relay also qualified (made up of Shepard, Lexi Goodell, Geordyn Webster, and Clarissa Carolan).

Union will travel to Waukon on Friday, as the 2018 Iowa High School football post-season begins. Meanwhile, Benton Community will host Greene County. Union went to West Marshall last night, hoping for a win and an outright Class 2A, District 2 championshiop.

VSHS football cheerleaders wrap up successful, busy season tonight

While only seen in public for a couple of hours on a few Friday nights, the Vinton-Shellsburg High School cheerleaders have each spent nearly 200 hours this season (including activities during the summer) in practices, clinics (including one in Ames), bus rides, community service activities such as the Step Up For Down Syndrome Walk.
